I just tried to get some mcdonalds tonight since nothing else is open late at night and I like their crispy chicken wraps a lot. there was one fucking employee working there and they basically told me to get lost. There isn't enough space in the kitchen to make both sets of menus at the same time so they have to pick one or the other. They reconfigure how foods are cooked, ingredients stored, etc. between "breakfast" and "lunch" time.

Lower, actually. When the McD's in the US started offering some breakfast items all-day many of the owners bitched for this very reason. The problem was that some customers would come in during "lunch hours" and order a breakfast item instead of the normal burger combo and that was less profitable than selling them the burger. There were also a lot of complaints regarding to the kitchen config thing I mentioned before. the kitchens in McD's are configured in a very specific way with the goal of getting the food out ASAP. changing what foods were offered when really fucked that up.
