i cant tell the colour of the meat because its already been marinated in bbq sauce

It's fine.
what's a good recipe to use my cottage cheese in?

It's OK. the marinade will have semi-pickled it, and anyway there's a big margin between expiry dates and when the stuff starts walking out the fridge.

rest in pepsi, OP
I fucking hate these type of threads.
An expiration date isn't an absolute. I've had stuff spoil before a date, and up to two weeks after. It's a guideline. Always smell and observe your meat before looking at the date. If it looks and smells fine, eat that shit. If it has been marinated and you can't really discern it, then eat that shit anyways. If you cook it right, it won't make you sick. Hopefully, it'll make you a better person.

>marinated in bbq sauce
Beg pardon? Huh? I don't even think an aussie would do that.

if it was off the smell would come through the bbq sauce, trust me. you'll be fine.
