Does anyone know what this is?

My brother's neighbor grows them and my brother gave me one to plant in the spring, but I have no idea what it is. All I know is it grows into a large vine, the vegetable has a large pit in it, it tastes mild like a cucumber or zucchini and they like to stir fry it in Singapore. Anyone recognize it?
