What's with the instant ramen hate on this board? This

too much sodium for me now, but I used to live on the stuff in college. I think it's mostly just contrarians. everything is okay in moderation op.

I'd reckon it's because it's a lazy person's meal, has a fairly generic taste and has no nutritious value.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it if you need a quick meal.

Ramen is good, but on a cooking board, something you just add water too isn't going to be very poplar.

better to get regular noodles. i like the thick ones, the fresh frozen ones are even better.

i think the main part people miss about the ramen noodles is the seasoning. this is easily remedied by buying some staple chinese sauces such as lao gan ma, adding fresh garlic and ginger, soy sauce etc

the one you posted is the worst kind tho

it comes with those small packages full of dry 'things', I bought a bowl like this recently, one of the packages had exactly 3 pieces of corn inside
the 2 others were indescriptible thick 'sauces'

after adding water to all that shit and waiting 2 minutes it looked, smell and tasted awful

the regular ramen packs with only a seasoning bag are ok

Americans are so fickle.
They will have endless threads about McDonalds/ Candy/ Pringles/ Snickers/ Pizza but anything else is bad.

IOnstant noodles are fine if it has the right brand-name and looks weeaboo enough.

Half the people are afraid of salt and the other half have only experienced American instant noodles.

Other countries instant noodles are a bit more complicated, some that have you mix ingredients into a paste and some even have legit chunks of meat packaged with them.
