love me some salad, /ck/
but is it better for me to buy my greens in bunches (ie lettuces, kale...) or as mixed greens in boxes or bags?
also salad thread
Bunches tend to stay crisp a lot longer, but loose greens often have a better micronutrients to weight ratio

get out of here man, kale is an excellent veg. i also highly recommend cavolo nero for anyone who enjoys kale, it might well be my favourite vegetable
OP the decider here is going to be whether you want to cut and prepare it yourself or if you want to pay a little extra for something pre-cut (and maybe already washed depending on the manufacturer)

If you want a better value, and variety, definitely buy in bunches. I've had bunches of green stay good for 2 weeks or longer in my fridge. Plus, you'll save money that way - my local grocery stores are always running weekly specials on bunch greens. I can usually get things like romaine, red leaf, green leaf, for 99 cents a bunch or less, depending.
Not to mention, you can get maybe 3 or 4 lunch salads out of a bag of greens - a bunch each of the above mentioned makes a mixing bowl sized salad for me, I can eat on for a week and a half if stored properly.

This
Bunches are cheaper and keep for longer
Bagged salads are just for convenience and keep for half a week, MAYBE.
Bagged salad is nasty. You never know what's in the middle.
