i accidentally bought tempura batter mix insteatd
of panko
as anyone used it? should i bother with it or is it horrible?
Depends, what are you frying? It's pretty good shit, but if you're frying up massive things, cut down a little smaller.
Tempura works best on higher heat, and you'll burn the inside by the time a big piece of meat is cooked

Not shitposting, but curious how you actually accomplished this. I couldn't see myself doing that unless I was so blind drunk I would have rekt the car before I arrived at the market.

the boxes are nearly identical and beside each other on the shelf. i was going to buy another brand entirely and changed my mind in the last minute and i guess had my mind in the clouds or something
Tempura batter uses gluten free flour as a base.
If that's what Panko is supposed to be, then you should be okay.
