Anyone ever just soak lentils overnight and just eat them without doing anything else to them? I used to do it with oats just wondering if it works the same.
It won't work, you'll still have dry lentils at the end.
I soak them so they cook faster in the pressure cooker. that's it.

What if I wait even longer? Or do they just have to be boiled?

>soaking and pressure cooking lentils
the literally take ~20 minutes just simmering them on the stovetop

it literally takes 1 minute in a pressure cooker. I eat them for breakfast and want them done fast.

I'm just surprised to see the combination of soaking and pressure cooking for something that already cooks fast. How long does it take if you don't soak them?
They need to be soaked?

no
You can soak them if you want, but I don't know anyone that bothers with it because they cook fast anyway.

I haven't done it that way in a while, but at least 5+ minutes, and the lentils stick to the bottom of the pressure cooker when cooked 'dry,' which is annoying.
they activate if you do that (at least if you soak them in hot water). very different from cooking them.
