>from new england but live in florida
>yet another country club thanksgiving because too far from home
Don't get me wrong, the food will be good but miss talking shit with my family around the table and it doesn't feel the same.
Thanksgiving thread, i guess.

My mema will make a turkey for everyone, salmon for my gf, and all the good sides. We will have sweet potato soufflé, potatoes, rolls, vegetables, etc.

I'm not even sure if my family is having a real Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Aww, I have enough single friends who are orphans and such that there is always a misfit-thanksgiving to go to if I wanted. Go get some of those people this year, maybe volunteer at a soup kitchen, or go be a regular somewhere that those types hang out at...bar or club night til you become a regular.
I still have my parents and my siblings who are about 75% attending of dinners, but I miss the childhood holidays. Both grandparents houses, countless cousins all hanging out throughout the day. 30+ at dinner. Good times. But so many gone now :( There's never going to be a full family reunion ever again. /sad
Did you have to work too close around Thanksgiving? WTF didn't get some airfare deals? I am flying the following weekend into new england...got round trip on American for $151 for a 4 day weekend. I'm going for a Peter Murphy concert. It's hardly much more money than just buying a nice dinner or bar bill. Staying with family. Couldn't you check airfares the following weekend too? Treasure your family, never know when they won't be around....
>mom decided instead of thanksgiving we are all just going to go to a restaurant
>everyone agrees
>I'm the lone hold out
I give people food poisoning ONCE and they decide to abandon all holidays
I think you eventually hit an age where holiday dinners don't mean much. Then you get a family of your own and reboot the tradition.
