Work out.
Don't eat or drink anything for the 2 hours before bed.

I eat a lot of spicy food with a high dose (several grams) of fish oil to fall asleep of low blood pressure. I don't recommend doing this immediately and working your way up instead. Cinnamon can also aid in this effect.

In conjunction, sometimes also quadruple bagged chamomile tea and 300-900mcg of melatonin.

Valerian is OK but can be habit forming so I don't recommend it regularly.

Of course, these are all pharmacological solutions.

Eat more protein during the day to improve your sleep quality. Don't eat a lot of protein at night, because it makes your mind temporarily more alert.

Eat a diet rich in magnesium and calcium, which are vital minerals for regulating your sleep hormones. Milk can help in this, as well as leafy greens and beans.

If you have problems with waking up during the middle of the night, you might need more potassium.

>not cycling between doxylamine succinate, diphenhydramine and melatonin to sleep

Works great for me and doesn't form any habits if you do it in a cycle only when you need the help
>>
