Is risotto a dish of the elite? It's literally just rice cooked in stock.
>>8196456
it is if it's made by your paid chefs
>>8196456
Sure, but from the picture it looks like every single grain of rice was jerked of by a qt chef-minion so maybe that risotto is special.
Literally who
food is just certain types of biological tissue with heat applied

This. It's not that it's such a fantastic dish, it's just another great one when made right. But it's labor intensive. If you want it and don't have the time to prepare it yourself you're paying someone to make it for you. So it's more expensive than many other things you could eat.
Is that John Podesta tweet real?
Risotto is a more skill-intensive dish so it's impossible for uneducated peasants to have the necessary skills to make it without formal training, right?

>>8196993
Well, it certainly isn't risotto.
>>8196456
its rice, butter, stock, and whatever extras you want.
its not that elite.
>>8196456
When I was studying in Italy my flatmate cooked risotto every other day. All it takes is generic risotto rice from Pam or whatever and some butter. He even used water because he couldn't be arsed to make stock.
>>8196510
Don't Italian peasants make this all the time?
>>8197384
You can actually just do it with basmati, though it's a bit harder to get the right texture.
Also, pam is usually overpriced, why did your flatmate waste money like that?

I think Wikileaks is referring to the lobster part.
is risotto normally kinda mushy and mucusy or was i just served shitty risotto? i had a similar reaction to grits and oatmeal and may be too autistic for this kind of food
>>8196467
Nope.
>>8196456
You missed the "lobster" part, OP. But you already know that you're just trying to make a thinly veiled class discussion thread on /ck/,
>>8197866
I guess the real point is the risotto/gruel connection is kind of a mind fuck
>>8196456
I don't understand. Rats don't like risotto?

I don' know about risotto but grits is kinda but I like it with butter and sugar is god mode. Oatmeal can definitely be mucousy.
