Most ice cream ads are incredibly obvious. They get some artist to spend hours making it look just perfect and then they take a few thousand photos from every possible angle until they get the right one.

I work at in n out. Can confirm that the environment in there is happy and chill 99% of the time. People are encouraged to do really good, and rewarded with good pay, benefits, and a happy work environment. In the end, it makes for delicious burgers, unlike your typical fast food place like McDs or BK. Those environments can be hostile and damaging to young talents.

I did advertising photography for a while, some of which was food shoots. Usually it is actual food to a degree. Ice cream will be made there with other ingredients to not melt as fast under the lights. Cereal in bowls of milk are usually white glue, as milk does not work out well. There is a few other things, its basically set up to give an ideal look to the thing while not being dishonest about the contents. So a burger won't show you one with every topping if the actual one lacks that, but everything there will be pulled to the front and angled to give the best impression.
