Does the 2 days fresh chicken lasts include the day you buy it or the day after? Is the FDA memeing because 2 days is bullshit.
Anybody
I give it five days, tops. I try to use it within two if I buy it fresh. I would never throw chicken away just because it was the third day, provided it smelled and looked okay, of course (and it's never gone bad imo. although there's been times when I've forgotten it for about a three and a half weeks in the back of the fridge. didn't try to eat that one).

Yes. Poultry doesn't take long to go bad. If you're not gonna use it today or tomorrow, put it in the fucking freezer
Poultry doesn't last but you can push the limit. Depends on how fresh it was from your supermarket/butcher in the first place.
I've had chicken very noticeably go bad overnight and I've also had it last 3 days before developing any signs of being off.

seems terribly conservative. I would eat fresh chicken up to the 5 day mark before I got concerned
Grandma always used to say "when in doubt, use your snout"

this
can't go off arbitary guidelines with meat. If it smells ok, it's ok, and if it smells bad, throw it out.

I usually buy my chicken breasts on wednesday, then on that saturday (the date thats usually on the chicken) I cook up the rest of them and eat them until the next wednesday. By tuesday they are still edible but sometimes I don't eat the ones still left on tuesday because I can't eat that much chicken per week.
