I'd want a big plate of hash browns after walking that far.
Yep. One big plate of taters after a hundred mile walk does the body good.
>cube potatoes
>boil water
>add potatoes to water
>boil potatoes until they achieve desired softness (approx. 15 - 20 minutes)
>drain potatoes
>mash potatoes
>add some of heavy cream or milk (this can make or break your potatoes so make sure not to add too much)
>add butter
>add garlic (optional, use sparingly)
>season to taste
>???
>profit
>enjoy potatoes

Sweet.
I'll use a fork to mash.
But can I salvage the starchy water to make a gravy?
How much garlic?
I've got 4 russets ready.
I was thinking two cloves. A whole bulb for spicy potatoes >:)

You have to go back.

Four russet will make enough for a small family. Maybe just use two. I don't really know if the water has additional uses; it always goes right down the sink when I drain it. Two is probably a good place to start with garlic. You can always add more if it isn't enough. Just make sure it's chopped up finely. A whole bulb will absolutely ruin them and you will be able to taste nothing but garlic for days.

I like garlic.
I'd use two cloves for 4 russets but I enjoy strong flavors.
No idea about taking advantage of the starch water??
Seems such a waste.
And I've got 4 people in the house. There's never enough for me to enjoy seconds of anything that actually tastes good.
Over spicing is kinda my food security sometimes. Otherwise I'd have even less to eat.
