Canadian whisky is basically just whatever the fuck they want to put into it, it's unregulated shit garbage. You know what you're getting with a scotch and most single malt is quality.

Glenmorangie is good shit, I love their Quinta Ruban.

glenmorangie is a very nice scotch for the price point. better than glenlivit and glenfiddich in my opinion, but not as good as cragganmore.

don't mix it with anything. put some ice in it, and sip it. as the ice melts it will mellow it out and release other flavours.

Even in Brit proofs, 40 proof is just a bit under 23% ABV. Wouldn't the 8% stipulation be redundant, or is it to say not (normal) beers, but including wine in your list of drinks?

Glenmorangie is a good baseline scotch. I'd consider it similar to Michters, nothing special, just great. You can't go wrong with it. Try the other ones they make where they finish in different wine barrels. Those taste better to me.
