Can you use egg shells for anything in the kitchen? I read once if you're gonna clear your soup you can use eggwhite and the shells. Otherwise than feeding them to the chickens again, else?
>>
Nothing that I know of. They don't even work for clarification of broth (though the white does).
>>
Good fertiliser for your tomatoes, not much use in the actual kitchen.

You can use them to get shell fragments out of omlettes
>>
Crushed up and mixed with your old coffee grounds makes a good slug deterrent in your garden.
>>
I know eggshells are primarily calcium, if you eat some (I know, not really tasty) is it technically bioavailable?

If you have a dirt floor, rinse and dry them then drop 'em right on the floor for a nice dusting of eggshell.

I imagine that would be as useful as eating ground bones or nail clippings

You have to prepare them a certain way. I'm sure it won't make them any better but if you look up how to make calcium carbonate that's what you use as a calcium supplement. You can also make a face rejuvenation mask with it for your lady

You can throw them at people.
>>
Sell them to Hillary, she loves shelling people.
>>
Strange coincidence but I just turned on the telly and saw some guy on a gardening show talking about putting crushed egg shells in his soil. He didn't say why but made it seem like standard procedure.
Could be worth looking into if you have a veggie garden.

It's also an excellent compost addition.
