I maintain a low-cal/ high protein diet, and sometimes I don't feel like spending calories on bread or whatever the chef is serving and would rather just have a piece of lean meat with some steamed veggies and keep my options open for later on or whatever. It's a sin because really at any restaurant worth shit, the chef is like an artist and you're supposed to accept their complete culinary vision, but I'm not always there to savor the food.
