I bought one of these Sanderson Farm trays of chicken wings yesterday for $7.50. That's 36 pieces (18 wings) for about 21 cents a piece (42 cents a wing)

Seems like a decent deal, but I remember when this would have cost a dollar and some change (I'm 30). I really hate the people who have made these things so popular.

I would deep fry them in a pot of oil, then I'd pour the oil into another pot leaving behind the flour that sinks to the bottom. It's basically a chicken-flavored roux. Fry holy trinity in the hot roux and then stir in stock. Pour delicious gravy over some mashed potatoes and have a side of collard greens. Even ham hocks cost $5 for two of them now.

Dinner for the entire week was less than $10.
