Can we get a knife thread up in this?

Victorinox over Dexter any day.

No. We can't have another Knife thread. Go down to you nearest restaurant supply store and pick up a chef's knife and one of pic related. Yeah, it's not going to be folded 40,000 times or have an edge honed down to 6000 grit, but it'll chop an onion and be sharp enough so you don't force it and slice yourself.
Done.
Spyderco Santoku is the best cooking knife for unser 100$

Easy.
Other foodservice brands like Dexter-Russel, Tramonitina, Bakers and Chefs, etc, make the exact same knife for about half the price.
And compared to better knives it has pretty crappy steel.

That is a Dexter Russel

Serves me right for not looking any closer! I thought you had posted the ever-popular victorinox.
Only complaints I have is the rather crappy steel (though for the price it is excellent value) and the handle. The handle's texture stops slipping with wet/dirty hands but I find that it tends to promote the "fist grip" rather than the proper way to hold a chef's knife.
Oh, and that one you posted is too short IMHO, but they do make longer ones.
Is this a good knife?
All day, every day.

Is masahiro a good brand?

Should I try a chinese memecleaver?
where's that meme gone to, BTW?
I'm currently in Vancouver, and this place feels like it's fucking 99% chinese people, so there must be some stores where I can actually buy one in person, instead of ordering some shady shit from alibaba?

That model is 10 inches. You don't want any longer than that
I got this for a dollar. The tip was broken but I grinded a new one with my bench grinder. Is Viking a good brand?

It's not Victorinox

When we want a kitchen knife with a serrated backblade and a survival kit in the handle, we'll let you know.
