At least balut is a mammal (or soon to be). I don't think I can stomach insects, though I have heard that they taste like crustations. They just look too... crispy.
>>8100449
The beak and all of the bones feel like small cartilage, if I even notice them. Most of the time I don't. Everything feels blended in. The different parts do feel different, but I wouldn't be able to describe how.
As for the feathers, it depends on how develop the duck is. For more mature fetuses, I guess the texture is a bit like peach fuzz? There some kind of texture to the feathers that differentiates it a bit from the rest of the duck. Overall, the duck tastes like a soupy brothy chicken that's extremely tender.
The yellow part feel just like a boiled chicken egg yolk, but softer and more savory. This is honestly my favorite part, followed by the juices in the egg.
I usually throw away the white part. It's almost always hard and tasteless. If plastic were edible, I imagine that's how it would taste.
It's best eaten with some salt and pepper, with a squirt of lemon (either by dipping or just adding into the "meat juice"). You would follow bits with some laksa leaves/Vietnamese coriander to refresh your palette.

the heel is usually the last piece of bread, so if you don't eat a lot of bread it's going to be stale, combine that with the fact that crust gets even more stale than the middle of the bread and because it's usually smaller it's usually a bit more awkward to eat.

>>8102341
It could be. I've never considered it. The boiled egg is a bit soupy. A bit like a stew?
If you fried the raw egg, I imagine it'd be like chunky fried fried chicken egg, but more flavorful, so you would use a very light hand with any seasonings. I honestly never seen what it looks like raw, so I wouldn't know. If this thread is still around in a few days, maybe I'll give it a try and post the results.
If you fried the boiled egg (primarily the fetus), it could work out, if you could keep the duck from falling apart, so a batter would probably be necessary.

Same here. I used to dislike mochi, actually, I bought it on impulse just to see what the deal was and I just didn't like it, both flavor and texture.
Then I tried other flavors and now I love it, for me it's an acquired taste thing.
Are wasabi snacks as spicy as the real deal? I had the chance to buy them but since I can't tolerate the taste of prepared powder wasabi I thought the snacks would be bad.

Whenever I don't want to share pizza with coworkers I just get an anchovy and mushroom pizza. No one will touch that shit.
Bovril.

Maximum faggot pleb detected.
butterscotch

There's a Mexican food truck less than a minute from my house that makes awesome lengua sandwiches.
No one else in my family will even try it because "Ewww, it's tongue! How can you eat that?"
I just don't get it. Meat is meat.
>>8098236
I love Brussels sprouts but they give me the shits every time.
>>8096977
I mash up sardines and spread it like a condiment on my sandwiches. Usually Oscar Meyer baloney and American Slices.
>>8101444
these fuckers. Salt licorice (the white powder is some salty sugar powder)
My entire body trembles when I just look at this fucking picture. They pack a punch.
and I live in northern europe. What the actual fuck.
>>8099611
my local kebab house sells it. This thing is a must with my favorite pita bread bowl full of doner goodie.
>>8097016
me neither.
>>Pass the kielbasa, pls.
>>8101720
How the shit do you safely eat raw ground beef? I'm genuinely asking. I want to try it.
Brussels senpai.
>>8097032
Ahoy, Ivan!
Where I come from we have a mild version of this, basically cold-smoked roe from north sea cod i believe, mixed with oil, salt, sugar vinegar, potato flour, and it comes in a squeezy tube. It's just called "kaviar" but I don't really think it qualifies as real caviar because of the milder taste and smaller roe. It's really delicious on light bread with butter and slices off egg, like a spread. Also, children eat this a lot, but a lot of grown-ups have a problem with it, supposedly because your breath will smell like fish eggs for the rest of the day, lol. I think it's very good though. Pic kinda related
>>8105255
Come to Norway, it's not really customary to eat raw beef, but at least the meat is safe for ingestion, even uncooked. I want to try beef tartar, something with the rawness kinda makes my mouth water.
Anchovies.
>>8105255
>safely
No such thing. That being said, choosing the cut and freshly grinding it yourself, or having the butcher do it, would probably be the safest.
>>8099588
Are you the guy that was shitposting scrapple in every thread about 6 months ago?
>>8105415
Murricunt here, just got some salmon roe the other day. Shit's delicious on either cucumber slices or a dark bread with creme fraiche
>>8099624
what is it made out of?
>>8101018
this looks delicious what is it and how do i make it
>>8103458
You liar, no one actually likes this
>>8105273
Its okay, I voted BREXIT too.
French brie with marmalade on crackers. Am i a monster?
>>8096977
You posted it.
Also, seaweed.
>>8101005
Once I had oysters I was shucking at home, and one had a pea crab larger than the oyster (I haven't seen a picture with one that large). I thought it was still alive and had no idea what it was. I threw it away, along with the rest of the oysters. Terrifying! I wish I had known at the time they were tasty, and not parasitic monsters that will kill you/haunt your dreams.
>>8103458
These really aren't that bad. I'd get them when I lived deep in the woods for work. The broth is really good leftover.
They do, however, look atrocious.
>>8097016
Braunschweiger is delicious.
>>8097016
I came to post that
Just the smell of sauerkraut makes me gag, I think part of the reason I hate it is my mom always put a lot of brown sugar in it. I like a tiny bit on reubens but that's about it.
>>8096977
No.
Drink water or San Pelligrino
>>8104686
N'aww, I just like my steak to taste good. Enjoy your machismo points for eating raw meat though.
A cooked steak is called well-done, and I only like my steak to be slightly undercooked.
>>8101700
is not
>>8097119
Tell her your they remind you of smelly pussy.
>>8098671
what pizza places still offer anchovies on pizza?
>>8099031
Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Literally rule 1 of being a mooch.
>>8100632
It's myoglobin, not blood, asshole.
>>8096977
canned sardines. not everyone hates it but a lot of people seem wierded out when they see me eat them.
>>8097030
I don't understand it. Kombucha tastes great to me, but my brother who usually isn't very picky hated it.
>>8106560
Literally every pizza place everywhere?
i knew a chick who drank the salty green water out the pickle jar. good lord what the fuck
>>8106708
I can't even imagine what all the sodium taken at once does
unsweetened chocolate or cacao nibs
raw ginger root
no one eats those
less offensive:
chopped chicken livers with schmaltz (rendered chicken fat) - havent had in a while, would eat again
>>8097773
pickled herring is like candy
people are just pussies
our ancestors ate all sorts of fish and conqured the world, eat the damn smelly fish already
>>8101049
then dont eat felafel and schawarma. foods of saudi arabia. or just eat food prepared by hindus, not pakis.
>>8102193
dont you love it when it smells like shit?
i dont
>>8102219
cheese is proof of god. only one cheese i cant stand, a local french cheese wrapped in leaves, that smells and tastes like ammonia. thats my limit.
>>8096977
I have an unnatural and rabid hatred for crockpot lasagna. It's fucking disgusting, no one should make that. EVER.
>>8103874
so called swiss cheese is awful. try comte or gruyere, they are divine
>>8105688
sounds good, ill try it. crackers should have no flavor. no chiken in a biskit please
>>8106801
Oops, this was supposed to be about what I like that OTHER people hate. Oh well.
In that case, pic related (minus the cherry). I could eat that funky mid century pear salad every day and enjoy every minute of it.
>>8106803
I agree, although I do like Jarlsberg, even though many people consider it pleb cheese. It has a nice mild nuttiness. Gruyere is fucking royal, though, I never make a quiche without it.
Tamago kake Gohan
If you can get past the idea of eating a raw egg it's amazing
>>8106812
Do people really not like that? I fucking love that shit for breakfast or for a simple dinner. And I'm not even japanese, or close to any kind of asian, or a weeb either. It's just plain good, simple food.
>>8106813
People get freaked out because of the consistency of the egg white, they think it's slimey or they'll get sick cause it's raw
You have good taste mate, fresh cooked rice and egg is amazing anytime of the day
>>8096977
>anchovies
>tongue
>okra
>sardines
>raw oysters
>liver
>pigs feet
No one ever steals my food.
>>8106827
All good picks, how are the pigs feet, how do you prepare them
Also lambs tongue is awesome
>>8106835
I like them pickled, but will roast them in the oven occasionally.
Beef and pork here, would love to try lamb.
>>8105175
What's the LD50 on those? Does the package come with an insulin autoinjector?
>>8106827
>anchovies
>sardines
>raw oysters
they'd be all gone when you got home if i lived with you
>>8106835
I like pigs feet boiled, and then eaten with a little salt and a spicy salt
>>8097016
Youre from Wisconsin aren't you
>>8106870
WE MICHIGAN NOW
FAYGO BITCH
Good luck getting a non-jew to eat gefilte fish and red horseradish
>>8098447
Face is like tender beef. Brains is like tofu. They are diced, seasoned, and rolled up in a tortilla. There's nothing scary about it. You won't even recognize it as brains/tongue/face when it's all cut up.

>There's nothing scary about it

>people that refuse to eat seafood
fried fish is nice .
Anything with a lot of garlic, and I mean a lot.
>>8106949
Like how much are we talking
A glass of garlic?
A couch of garlic?
A land Rover of garlic?
>>8106950
That would depend on how much I was cooking, wouldn't it?
But to get an idea on how much I'm talking, when I make carbonara for example, I put in so much garlic that it's almost at the point of burning my tongue. I like garlic that much.
>>8105415
Swedish people call roe kaviar, i think?
Or is there a word for roe.
>>8102385
Kvas is god, especially the one you get from street vendors.
It has a, distinct taste compared to the store ones.
They won't even try it without the jellybeans.
>>8097074
I thought sardines were disgusting for the longest time, but mostly because I had never actually eaten them.
Now I like them quite a bit.
I was blind but now I see.
>>8105854
it probably was still alive anon
as long as the oyster wasn't dried up they both probably were
to be fair it is technically a parasite, but in the way truffles and chanterelles are, not tape worms
>>8102202
Most people buy their cheese at the grocery store
Many grocery stores don't store their cheese right (tightly wrapped in non-breathable wrap etc) and the 'fancier' cheeses often don't have very fast turnover.
The combination of these two things causes some cheeses, like brie and camembert, to develop flavors and smells of ammonia or to change texture.
Also a lot of people eat cheese way too cold which changes texture and flavor also
>>8097052
I had something like that with capsaicin in it because I was trying to do a cleanse... I don't see how people could ever enjoy it.
>>8099588
love me some scrapple
>>8101703
Slice tomato, salt, pepper, basil, garlic, olive oil......
>>8096977
fucking weak compared to this
>>8105220
Yes it is. Goes even better with heavy meat and spices than ayran in my opinion.
>>8106959
You. I like you.
>>8105688
Actually in some restaurants in France, if you order some cheese, they bring you black cherry jam or green tomato jam with it. It's really good.
>>8105485
That sounds absolutely fantastic, I'm gonna try that whenever the store opens again tomorrow.
>>8105485
Yeah, they do, I come from Norway so we have the same word for it basically. You can get mild versions of it in any Ikea worldwide, i believe.
>>8106959
I wasn't aware that carbonara even contained garlic, i thought it was just egg yolks, pepper, and cheese, basically, and cream if you're so inclined.
>>8100537
Lol
>birds are mammals
>>8100569
I had a really delicious pizza with marinated shrimp once, my friends were all "eeww" and "groooss".
Fucking children.
