I'm looking to try some mead. To those of you who have, what brand do you like, where do you get it, and is it worth it?

i've only ever tried Moniack and Lyme Bay, seem to be the only popular ones in the UK. I like both, very few places seem to stock it, some specialist wine places or Amazon are my go to. It's reasonably worth it, i wouldn't drink it regularly but its really nice once in a while
If you like honey and a sweeter wine then you'll love mead
What country are you from?
I know of a few decent English makers

Brew your own. It's pretty easy in small batches, and if you have a $20 to drop on some quality honey you can easily brew quality stuff. Only downside is waiting for it to age.
I've never been able to make good mead. I've never had problems making beers and wines - even my experiments where I've made wines where its just random fruit juices mixed together have tasted better than my mead.
The least horrible one I've made was aged for just over a year and even then it didn't taste of honey - just vague but drinkable white wine.
Here you go senpai, B Nektar makes good stuff and has a good variety of flavors too. They dony really make a "plain mead" but ive homebrewed unflavored mead before and it really isn't too great.

Yeah, I figured brewing it wouldn't be easy. Especially since I have no experience brewing anything.

This is exactly what I was looking for, and some of those locations are really close by. Thanks a bunch!

Do you have the full name on the skooma bottle? I can only make out Desire Mead but that doesn't lead me to this.
The one on the left, seems nice, doesn't seem like they're selling it outside the UK yet though, shame.

My brother is really into mead. Manhattan anon here, if you're coming into the city then the other anon's suggestion, B. Nektar is going to be somewhat easy enough to find and is pretty good. Good luck finding it for less than 20 a bottle though. I'd suggest starting with the most 'regular' mead you can find and then branch off from there based on your tastes; don't try a silly barley-d ultra dry mead with hops right off the bat. Most people I know who are into mead live in Brooklyn and homebrew themselves, since it's kind of expensive and somewhat hard to find here.

Happy to help. Also brewing it isnt hard at all, but honey gets pricey and it doent taste as sweet or "honey flavored" when you make your own. Not to mention equipment cost.

I usually buy a bottle or three from a local medieval festival once a year.
Cherry mead is fucking goat.
