I like a thicker crust with plenty of space around the edges to grip and eat, as a good crust is amazing on its own to have. I don't want crust with any crunch like the crispy cracker thin crust.

Here's the thing about thin crust, regarding chains anyway

They order the shit frozen, they just get shipped boxes of frozen round crackers pretty much, when you order thin crust you're paying the same amount for a. less food and b. frozen food as opposed to at the very least fresh dough

I enjoy it time to time but in general its a bit of a rip off, from chains anyway

Huh, I wonder if that was a recent change, a regional thing, or maybe even franchise vs corporate.

When I worked at Pizza Hut about 10 years ago, we'd make the dough every morning. We had a roller machine that would flatten the portioned dough balls to be put in pans with the oil and covered and placed in a proof closet thing for a couple hours and that would be the pan pizza. The rest we'd put in a large bag and portion it out for the hand tossed and thing crust (again using the roller adjusting for the thickness) as we needed it during the night.
