What is the best seasoning/herb combination and why is it rosemary and garlic?

>some faggot is going to try to claim salt and pepper
>>
Salt, pepper, and butter is all you need.

Mere necessity isn't the goal. Excellence is.
>>
White truffle oil and chives desu.
>>
>>7978205

>>
>>7978188
garlic and basil

rosemary has a very overpowering taste. it's great, but i think it's uses are limited because of it.

"Garlic, rosemary and salt!"
>>
tarragon needs no compliment. It's ruggedly individualistic and perfect in every respect.
>>
Rosemary is overpowering and is largely relied upon by shit cooks that don't know they're shit.

Thyme and garlic is much better
>>
>>7978188

I would say that you are right OP. I very much enjoy rosemary/garlic. Another very good combination for me at least is garlic/basil. I also really like garlic/thyme.

Basically garlic all the time though, can't go wrong
>>
>>7978188

Honey, garlic and rosemary are my love.

But garlic is my favorite. With oregano, with basil. Garlic and cinnamon with a bit of butter is my favorite way to make chicken.
>>
>>7978708

Don't forget nutmeg
>>
garlic and coriander

garlic and onion.

two smells of my childhood.
>>
garlic and ginger
>>
>>7978188
>not thyme, garlic, and chicken sauteeing together

c'mon now...
>>
>>7979238
>chicken and sautéing are herbs and seasonings now
>>
>>7979243
>he doesn't save chicken skin to render the fat along with garlic and herbs instead of oil or butter

just learning how to cook? it's okay we've all been there.
>>
>>7978236
Paprika has such a strong flavor. You can easily season something with it which makes it a top tier spice

>put a few shakes of Spanish smoked paprika in my scrambled eggs
>>
>>7979243
>seasonings are never meant to be cooked

WEW LAD
>>
>>7978247
Truffle oil is a shitty meme, known to ruin perfectly good dishes
>>
>>7979251
>>7979256
Are you retarded?

>>7979255
Speaking as a muh heritage Hungarian, paprika is up there in my most used spices list. I go through about a half kilo per year.
>>
>>7979266
No but clearly you are since you still don't understand that most spices and seasonings etc. taste better when toasted. Never seen an Indian curry being made before?
>>
>>7979282
Wtf, this was meant for >>7979266 not for you, sorry I don't know what happened
>>
>>7979282
Wow. You really are retarded.
Let me make it clearer for your cum-addled brain to comprehend:
>implying chicken is either an herb or a seasoning
>implying sautéing is either an herb or a seasoning
>>
>>7979291
>retardation status: confirmed
>>
>>7979293
>rendered fat from chicken skin

So, using your retard logic, we should just be calling it olive instead of olive oil? Or can you not differentiate different things that come from the same plant/animal?
>>
>>7979293
>>7979296
>being this autistic about definitions of words

You sound like an old man who's angry at the world
>>
>>7979293
>>7979296
do you get this triggered when someone says "season a cast iron skillet" because they're using oil instead of cumin or saffron? dipshit
>>
>>7978195
This. There is literally no reason for the salt pepper meme. Salt does the good stuff. throwing in pepper makes as much sense as throwing in cinnamon just because the salt is there. If you are trying to make something peppery, sure but too make people just mindlessly throw the pepper in with the salt just because. Ruining perfectly good flavor profiles.
>>
>>7979259
So you are poor?
>>
>>7979938
Friend, truffle oil is terrible. Truffles are awesome. Remember this and you won't ever reveal your tryhard-powerlevel.
>>
>>7978188
Nah m8 it's chilli and pepper.
>>
>>7979936
I see what you're saying, in spite of your spelling errors.

You're the kind of nigger who would eat shit if it was drenched in truffle oil
