I made cookies a few days ago. They were pretty good, unfortunately while baking they ended up melting one onto each other because I didn't have big enough trays.
Once cut apart they were pretty great, but it just annoys me that I might never have enough space to bake them all together.
Is it advisable to just put baking foil in my oven without any trays around it? How can I get around this problem without buying a giant tray just for cookies?
Also any tips on making chocolate chips in case I can't buy chocolate chips? I thought crushing chocolate would be good enough, but they ended up melting completely inside the cookies.
Is this a troll post?

>There's nothing stopping you from just not over stuffing the pans
>you don't need to use that much foil, use put a single layer on the bottom or spray the pans with nonstick spray/oil

hello darkness, my old friend

a cheap baking sheet is like $3

What do you mean?
What did I get wrong?

Why would you use baking foil? Can't you just put a thin coat of oil on the tray?

Cook small amount of cookies in tray. Wait until done, then take them out and put on a plate. Then cook another small amount of cookies. Repeat until no more dough. You don't have to cook them all in one go.

Recipe didn't suggest it, I also supposed oil and cookies would kinda taste like shit

It's just a very thin layer of oil. Like a few drops and spread it around with some plastic wrap.
You don't need much oil to make things not stick.

If you're that worried about using too much oil, just buy a can of the aerosol kind and give the pan a quick spray.

Check into your dough being too soft/runny
Chill your dough before baking
Smaller cookies more batches

Looks like your using too much milk or not enough flour maybe

Smaller cookies man, that's an easy solution. But seriously you can buy super shallow baking pans, rather than straight up cookie sheets, which perform the same function but can also be used for every other kind of baking that doesn't actively require a high-sided tin. I use a pair of non-stick baking pans for my cookies and just about everything else. They also don't need to be greased.

it shouldn't change the taste, dont use fucking olive oil, use canola or something
also cookies are like 50% butter which is mostly oil
Seems like your butter isn't cold enough. Try dicing it into tiny squares after freezing it.

rapeseed is literally poison. Use fucking coconut or grapeseed for cookies

Can you guess why they call that a cookie sheet?
