I ran out of dishwasher detergent, can I use laundry detergent instead?

Bury your dishes out in the yard and underground critters will come along and remove all the food bits stuck on them.
>>
Try it op, let us know what happens.

No. Laundry detergents usually contain optical brighteners that are designed to cling to clothes through a rinse cycle. Definitely something you don't want to eat.
>>
No. It has to be low suds.
But you can wash them by hand that way and the stains will be gone and your colors more bright.

What about fabric softener?
>>
you're better off using hand soap

or you know, go to the fucking store
>>
try bleach instead
>>
Just hand-wash them you lazy sack of shit.
>>
baking soda works in a pinch but leaves your dishes cloudy.
>>

Yes. Use fabric softener too
>>
If you have some bicarbonate in your cupboard you could use that as a replacement
>>

Use some baking soda, salt, and a drop or two of dish soap or hand soap.

I'd think shower gel or hand soap would be better.

Laundry detergent washes into and sticks to clothes.
