What ingredients do you like to add to bolognese sauce?

Personally I like to add chilis.

Garlic sometimes.

Mushroom when i have some.

Onions, fresh basilic and lean pork every time.

Haven't tried veal (or veal/pork mix), parsley or bacon. Some anon said something about olives and i will definitely try that.

Tomato sauce is canned or jarred, rarely homemade (i rarely cook for more than just me and the gf)

Am i the only one who can't use beef anymore ?
