Before my grandpa passed he used to buy all sorts of gimmicky shit that came in the mail. Usually a result of those mail-in "sweepstakes" where they promise huge prize sums but all they ever send back are chinese-made gadgets and more mail-in forms.
Inevitably they'd make their way to me in the form of birthday and christmas gifts.
I'd call them "pops gifts." In his old wit, he'd play these gadgets up like they were the best thing ever hoping we the "kids" would either think they're that hot shit, or pity him for being old and taking it off his hands anyway.

That 'mixer' was one of said gifts. Imagine carving out the vibrator from your mom's favorite dildo and jerry-rig that on top of three metal coathanger prongs. It might be a neat abortion tool, but no, that was this mixer and the intent was for it to stir up sauces.

In short it doesn't mix anything efficiently at all. Even low-maintenance sauces like spaghetti sauce. It kind of just hobbles about in the pan, it does completed rotations after awhile but they're not enough to really be incorporating anything or keeping your sauce from sticking to the bottom and sides of the pot.

Still though, makes me think of my grandpa and his gullible wallet yet good intentions.
