How do I get into brewing coffee at home?

I've never really been into coffee when I was younger, but I've had a few cups recently and I think it's definitely something I can get into now.

Would a french press or clever coffee dripper be a good choice to begin with?
Or should I just buy a cheap coffee maker, if so have any recommendations?

I just want to get started with home brewing, if I find it's something I like then I'm willing to dish out more money for better equipment.

French press if you're brewing a nice cup or two at a time. Dripper if you want a bitter pot of stale coffee stewing constantly.

nah m8 drip machine is fine and easier and makes more coffee than a french press with less cleanup
>>
french press is always generally accepted as a good method

always buy whole bean and grind yourself
>>
i'd get a classic mr coffee 12 cup drip brew machine. and use quality beans, not maxwelo house or folgers

french press leaves grounds at the bottom of the cup tho. I say get a drip machine. they make perfectly good coffee.

French press or a Clever (or any other dripper) are both good choices, I'd suggest the press since they're cheap and can easily make more than one or two cups.

Always purchase whole bean, preferably as fresh as possible, then grind it yourself (coarse for french press). You don't need to invest into a good grinder this early, though, just get whatever is $10-$20 at Target

Start with a french press or an aeropress for how you will brew your coffee. Then decide on either spending $30 on a decent handheld burr grinder(I use the hario skerton, which is ok, but is less consistent than I would like for coarse grinds) or drop $100+ on an electric burr grinder. If you decide you like your new method of making coffee, hand grinding for months will get old so if you have the money just buy an electric burr grinder straight off.

Get an Aeropress and a Hario Skerton. It's flexible, you can make a cup in two minutes using fine grounds when you're in a hurry, or you can do a 14-minute long-brew with medium-coarse grounds, each method extracting their own unique flavours.

French press is what I call it when my wife squeezes my nuts.

What do you guys know about budget espresso machines? I want to do espresso at home, but I don't know anything except for the operation of a very expensive machine In my cafe, and also I don't want to spend over likw 100dollars

Moka's good too.

Small bialetti and a French press are sufficient. Rancilio Silvia plus a grinder is a good next step if you drink a lot of coffee. Using freshly ground coffee is the way to go.
