Why do the workers at diary queen do this? What are they trying to prove?
>>
>>7612857
Thicc
>>
>>7612857
>Our shit defies gravity, nigga! Bow down before your Queen, your Dairy Queen!
>>
>>7612857
They are required to do this to prove that it's thick.
>>
>>7612857
DQ manager here. If the employees turn it upside down and it falls out they get 1 strike. If you get 3 strikes we fire you.
>>
>>7612857
How the fuck can you drink something through a straw that is too thick too pour from a cup?
>>
>>7612942
thats a spoon
>>
>>7612942
>they charge for spoons
>>
>>7612948
That makes more sense.
>>
>>7612942
>>7612948
>>7612958
I think it's one of those strawspoons
>>
>>7612857
Because a famous ice cream place does it and DQ wants to steal that place's culture and cred.
>>
I dunno but I make sure they don't anymore.
>order my blizzard
>faggot turns it upside down
>tell his manager he was mocking me and pretending to drop my drink
>tell him I don't like no disrespect, demand full compensation and to have him fired
>manager does it

Feels good to be old and respected.
>>
>>7613087
It must be truth. I read on 4chan.
>>
>>7613080

Mah cultural appropriation
>>
>>7612940
I had a cousin get fired because of this, he's slightly retarded though.
>>
>>7612940
>>7613176
I don't get it. Are the cashiers in charge of how ice cream works?
>>
THICK
>>
>>7613177
No, the people who made the shake do it to prove that they made you a thick shake that conforms to DQ standards.

Granted, I don't actually like DQ. But that's why.
>>
>>7612857

If it falls out of the cup they make you a new one for free.
>>
>>7613223
>if our dumbass worker pours and spills out your ice cream, we won't make you pay for a new one
wow top notch selling point you really got me with that gimmick
>>
>>7612931
underrated post
>>
>>7613234
Well, they don't make you pay for the original one either. It's basically 'if it spills, we'll give you a new blizzard and also your money back'
>>
>>7612857
>tfw nearest DQ is 6 miles away and you don't have a car
>>

this is why my grandfather died on iwo jima?

do you not understand the concept of moderation?

might you also be suggesting that if you eat ice-cream at all--every day, once a month, once a year, doesn't matter--you shouldn't be physically active?

>living with parents, not having a job and implying that you feel self-pity

sorry not sorry but no

i can't even tell what you're implying

your parents are rich so you have a good life or something?

well, ok, enjoy never feeling the satisfaction of living for yourself mommy's babby
>>
>>7612857

they're proving they know what REAL thick is
>>
>>7613204
Doesn't a machine dispense that shit? How is fair that you get fired if the machine doesn't make a thicc enough product?
>>
>>7613176
They have retarded ppl working at fast food? How does that work? Wont they get my order wrong? Wont they cook my food wrong?
>>
>>7613582
Being retarded means it's harder to teach them to do it right, it doesn't mean it's impossible.
>>
I once did this with a milkshake at Steak 'n' Shake in front of like 8 people.

Had a whole milkshake just right on my lap.

They thought I was mentally retarded. They're probably right.
>>
>>7613087

This is probably a likely scenario in a country that hates its young generation. In Norway, or probably Europe in general, a person like this would be told in great detail what the company's values are, telling him as subtly as possible that he's a crazy shitstain on society and to fuck right off.
>>
>>7612857
I worked at DQ before everyone had to do this. I don't know how they can during the summer. After a huge rush, all of the ice cream would become liquid because it wasn't in the machine long enough.
>>
>>7613438
>owning a car is mandatory

This isn't everything that is wrong with America but it is a solid majority.
>>
>>7614452
I hate the car culture here. It's one of the reasons we are so goddamn fat.
>>
>>7614470

How on earth do you get from car culture to being fat?
>>
>>7614452
>owning a car isn't mandatory
>nearest ice cream is two miles away
Maybe in Japan and New York city where you can walk to your job, tailor, pizza parlor and barber in the course of 20 minutes, but it's just not possible in more rural areas.
>>
>>7614474
Cities that are difficult and painful to walk around in. Lack of pedestrian streets. Extra social value on owning cars, so that it's almost obligatory for middle class people.
>>
>>7614474
I probably used the term wrong.

But having to design everything around cars is a pain. A lot of commerce centers aren't friendly to people who walk or bike. Rural areas have no public transit at all. Cities need better bike lanes/routes. More cars means more sitting.
>>
>>7614475
>bicycles
>>
>>7614521
Not that guy, but most rural areas don't have great roads, and almost none of them have bike lanes. So, if a driver isn't paying attention...
>>
>>7614521
I don't know about where you work, but if I came in soaked to the bone in sweat from my 10 mile bike ride my boss would send me right back home to change.

Enjoy that weather though, I'll be in my car with heated seats.
>>
>>7612857
They don't do this when you drive through, proving what a farce the whole ordeal is
>>
>>7613396
>averaging 24-36 mph

damn dude, didn't know pro track sprinters hang out on /ck/
>>
>>7614541
Bike lanes are for placating cagers

take the lane

>>7614546
why do you care about heated seats if you're saying that you'd sweat so much that you're soaked from a 10 mile ride

Clearly a bike isn't optimal in every situation, but it shouldn't be as an ignored form of transit as it is.

it's pretty obvious he's implying he's getting government subsidies payed for by your tax dollars
>>
>>7614770
In parts of the country, yes. I was never claiming that it wasn't. My point is that we should have better public transit in rural areas, with more options to use alternate forms of travel when it's feasible.

I got the pumpkin pie blizzard a few times. They turned it over like that and each time it dumped all the cinnamon and nutmeg dust onto the counter.
>>
>>7614774
Yeah, I had to pay that niggah 200k just to git it from him, real friends.. huh..
>>
>>7612857
Because it's a blizzard and it's guaranteed that they can turn the cup upside down without it falling out. This is how they guarantee it.

>>
>>7614521
>80 mile round trip to university campus
>5 days a week
Totally feasible man, totally feasible.

>>7614794
>we should have better public transit in rural areas
The problem is that public transit isn't profitable. Even in major cities it requires a subsidy in order to have fares that people are willing to pay (but those who don't use it still pay). To compound this issue, the further out you go, the fewer people you have (in general) and even less so that are willing to give up their time/convenience in order to use public transit. The cost of using public transit would be far greater than owning a vehicle. I drive my car for 10 cents a mile including the cost of oil changes, it costs my nothing in taxes, and when I don't drive it, I'm not paying for others to use it as I would with public transit.
>>
>>7614874
Going based off of your 10 cents per mile for your vehicle and depending how in depth you got when you came up with that figure, I would be interested in knowing what you are studying for a degree in. For a good reason, not bad. I'm impressed by it.
>>
>>7612940
lol @ poorfags getting fired for not doing meme-moves before you hand off the food.
>>
>>7614864
worst part: its easily cheatable. You can do the faggy dq move with a cup of water if you give it a few tries to get the feel for it.
>>
>>7613582
Who else would work fast food?
>>
>>7614969
Subtle
>>
>>7613087

>Feels good to be old and respected.

They don't respect you. It's not worth the hassle of arguing with an old retarded faggot over some cheap ice cream that costs 10 cents to make
>>
>>7614770
Not for me it's not, buster. I ride 8 miles to work erry day. 100 degree summers and 0 degree winters. Usually takes me ~30minz which really isn't much slower than a car considering traffic/parking...

Just dress appropriately, leave a little early & bring a change of clothes.

It's amazing how much money you can save not paying to own a car. You just gotta get over ur fear of getting off your ass and being able to walk or bike without needing to take a car trip
>>
>>7614874
why do you live so far from somewhere you have to get to 5 days a week
>>
>>7616094
It takes you thirty minutes to ride 8 miles? That is slow as fuck mate
>>
>>7616173
Not him but he said 80 mile round trip. If he only lives 40 miles from his university it's hardly worth moving closer to a place he's only going to for a few years.
>>
>>7616191
>>7616207
My wife bought our house when we were still dating (I proposed before she closed on it) in 2013.

>>7614891
I figured tires, gasoline, and oil changes. It comes out to 9.9 cents. I don't count repairs because they're not scheduled/consumables.
I'm studying agriculture/business and economics.
>>
>>7617771
Meant to quote >>7616173
not >>7616191
>>
>>7616038

But it's worth firing someone over it?
>>
>>7618140
The guy probably wasn't actually fired.

I've seen similar back when I worked my first job in HS. The manager might bitch out an employee in front of someone who complained, but it's all an act to make the fuckwit customer satisfied. Once the customer left it's back to business as usual.

Either that or the manager already wanted to fire the guy and was waiting for a good excuse/opportunity.
