What do you put into your tuna salad for tuna salad sandwiches?

Chopped up vienna sausage for extra protein

That seems pretty redundant. You could go it with yellow/shallots + shallot/chives and it wouldn't make much of a difference tastewise.

My mom used to put chopped lettuce in her tuna salad that would later turn into a watery mess in the bowl. I hated it so much.

Mayonnaise, prepared mustard, salt, pepper, finely minced onion or shallot and parsley en chiffonade. Also vinegar, pickle brine, lemon juice or other acidic element if the mayo/mustard needs it.
Also, only tuna in oil. Tuna in water is proof that there is no god. Or, at least, not a loving one.

Probably. But I like onions, usually have all that at hand and just put it all in.

As expected, tuna in water tastes watered down.
Tuna in oil just tastes more tuna-y.
I also like tuna in coconut curry, but I don't use it to cook with. I just eat that shiznit straight over rice cuz it's delicious.

I have two ways I make it, both involve homemade mayo. Then one has red onions, a little shallot, capers, lemon juice, pepper and salt. The other is just salt, pepper, and homemade minced butter pickles.
