What's the ettiquette for a group of friends taking up a few bar tables but half the people don't drink? The other half buy a drink or split a drink w/their girlfriend [Right after coming from dinner to chat and play cards]
If people at the tables are paying then you leave them the fuck alone.

>splitting a drink
Coming home from the Glee watching party, are you?

It's fine for the most part. Don't pull it on a weekend night. Have the courtesy to depart if you see too many groups waiting on tables.
If you become a problem, a manager will politely rush you, and as a last resort ask you to settle up and leave.
>>7360457
I'd say depends a great deal on if the place is busy or not.
If it's empty it's probably cool, if you're taking up valuable table space you're being assholes.

Get together dinners on a weekend night and then leave for the bar to hang out more when the restaurant closes around 10pm.
Maybe 3-4 drinks are bought for 10 people. Place is near capacity. Just hangout for an hour or two.
>>7360512
3-4 drinks for 10 people over 2 hours in a packed place.. yeah, you're straddling between inconsiderate and douchebag.
>>7360512
If they are not over capacity, and can still seat paying customers, the only person you are pissing off is your server. Tip them well, and it's not a problem.
If there are customers looking to sit and order food, you are costing them money, and inconveniencing the waiting customers. That's a dick move. You wouldn't want to wait, so don't make someone else wait.
>>7360520
Okay great, yeah it's near full but there's room for more and no one is waiting.
The server gets the good 18% or so.
>>7360528
>18%
>3-4 drinks
>good
Wowsers
>>7360528
Tip more. she's having to fill your sodas or what have you, and the 18% on 3-4 drinks is like 3 bucks. have everyone at the table chip in a dollar.
If a consistent thing at a busy then they hate you there
Also is it a dick move to order 1 water per drink?
As a palette cleanser for after or in between.
>>7360554
Only if you call it a palate cleanser.. and order them at the same time..
>>7360554
No, it's common for people to drink a water per alcoholic beverage if they are concerned about hangovers.
Why don't you and all your pussy friends hang out somewhere that isn't a packed bar if only a third of you are getting anything?
>>7360583
It's the only thing open at the hour that is convenient and has alcohol.
>>7360564
Why is it bad to order at the same time? Isn't it worse to stop the waitress 3-4 times for 1 water?
>>7360715
None of you have homes? Keep a bit of booze for entertaining?
>>7360832
It's too late to go to houses, it'll wake people up.
