Why do people say that burgers are unhealthy? They've got something from all the food groups; I mean it's just meat, bread, and veg. So, what exactly is it about burgers that makes them supposedly unhealthy? I mean they're pretty much my only source of veg outside of fries.

too much salt, too much sugar in the ketchup/sauce, the bread is extremely poor quality, and most people drink too much cola with it, and it makes people consume too much meat. it needs much more greens. eliminate those factors and it's kinda healthy yes.

Most buns have alot of sugar in them toasted with butter, and or grease. Sides also include fried potatoes and sugar water or the more traditional frozen sugar milk&cream

Most of the reasons I see listed in this thread are based on burgers you'd get in a fast food/fast casual/diner/mid tier restaurant setting.
If you are making burgers at home, it's a completely different story.
>using lean beef, grass fed beef, or bison
>keeping your patty at 1/4 lb
>either making your own buns or buying whole grain buns
>quality condiments
>all the veggies, much more than you'd get on a burger in a typical cheap restaurant setting.
>toasting your buns like a normal person, without slathering them in grease
>drinking water or unsweetened iced tea
>baked potato wedges or fresh veg like carrots and snap peas instead of fries

I mean come the fuck on, this shit isn't hard. It fucking common sense.
