This is why I hate CoF. Like count is all about the face, hair/make and photography and the quality of the coord is almost irrelevant.

I can't be too salty about it because I know a bad photo can make a good coord look objectively bad (I've been at meets with girls who looked stellar and then gone "oh honey, no" at their CoF posts because they were so unflattering they made the outfit look bad), but it's kind of sad how a shitty coord with nice photography climbs the ranks so quick.

Underskirts are usually only not terrible when they look like they're a part of the main piece. That's 2010s classic not oldschool. In the early 00s classic lolita brands released a lot of dresses which weren't that different to today but typically styled them with more oldschool hairstyles, fishnets or lace-topped socks instead of print tights/OTKs. They were also much more likely to use colour palettes like making all their accessories match the lace on the dress, rather than using more of a mixture like today.

Velvets, sateens, jacquards, and other "expensive fabrics" have been classic lolita staples since the early 2000's, and if anything classic lolita has been seeing less 18th century inspiration since the late 2000's and early 2010's. I think it's just the print of the tights throwing me off, which is why I mentioned them. She probably wanted the white shapes to look like they were leading into the shoes, but it's genuinely throwing me off.

I also normally like white shoes for contrast, but this isn't quite enough contrast for it to work for me. The thumbnail looks okay, though. Like I said. It's not super unbalanced or anything, it's just weird with those tights for me.

I find they're a good way for me to avoid mission creep when getting ready.
