Some people claim their cosplay-tier OTT coord is casual.
Some people say it's a poofy brand skirt with a cutsew or t-shirt.
Some people think a Leur Getter dress without petticoat can be casual lolita.

What do YOU think casual lolita is these days?

Please post recent coords only.

>This dress that I am wearing this time is from a casual Lolita brand. The name is Leur Getter, a famous brand (...) When it comes to Lolita, you may have an image of flashy blouse with flashy JSK, but the brand Leur Getter is a brand that the casual Lolita that I know really like as well.
>When I do Lolita I wear 3, 4 or 5 paniers and make it look bloated like an upside down cup, but when I'm doing casual Lolita I will be using a pretty worn out panier
>There is a store which has a really long history, and probably the no.1 store for the casual Lolita. The brand MILK is a pop icon-like brand for casual Lolita.
>If you are going to work, to school, or taking a short trip and you feel Lolita might be too much, if you wear something like MILk, Leur Getter or Secret Honey like the one before, it's easy to move, easy to wear and toned-down and so it's a Lolita dress you can wear in everyday life.
>Famous casual Lolita brands such as Leur Getter and MILK, Secret Honey which has many disney collabs, Emily Temple Cute

Thoughts?
>>
>>9511321
Her first and third outfit fit in casual lolita for me, the second outfit would be okay, if the blouse was simpler.
I was surprised to hear MILK being refered as casual Lolita brand. Then again I think we in west are often too anal about what brand is and what brand isn't Lolita.

I wear circle lenses daily, so for me they're casual. I also wear wigs daily so those also are casual for me. Casual lolita is very subjective.

>Casual lolita is very subjective.
This kind of thinking is what makes people post their normal lolita coords as casual lolita.

Remember when casual lolita was a substyle and not just whatever your opinion is? I just know you amerifags don't dress l like that casually, stop lying to yourselves.
>>
>>9511960
It was a substyle that was vague and not clearly defined and people had different ideas of what made something casual. It's okay, no one is taking away your cutsews and skirt, dress however casually you want but a ton of old casual lolita is hideous and just not lolita. Our standards are higher now.
>>
>>9512044
Idk how you wear it but a normal lolita coord is not casual lolita, it's not that hard to just say it's lolita. It was pretty clearly defined and still is, the last two casual lolita threads are good examples of that.
>>
>>9511310
This outfit is super cute but the skirt length ruins it for me desu
>>
>>9512166
Most brands release miniskirts like this, I feel as though they work within the context of casual lolita. But that's personal opinion (as is everything on this thread)
>>
>>9512166
It's casual dumbass
>>
My personal version of casual lolita is the shit I throw on in under 20 minutes before rushing to the train each morning. JSK + petti + blouse + otks + headdress + bolero + 1-3 pieces of jewellery. Simple hairstyle and I fix my minimal makeup during the train ride.
>>
>>9511305
>cosplay-tier
you have to be dressing up as a specific character/thing to be cosplaying but ok
>>
>>9512423
People who are so into lolita they wear it every day know what casual lolita is, and that isn't it. Just because you consider something a casual outfit doesn't make it casual lolita.
>>
People are too anal about what does and what doesn't qualify as casual. I've posted casual coords before but the suggestions and crit I've gotten on it all would make the coord less casual and more like a regular coord, which defeats the whole purpose. For me, a casual coord allows for slightly more freedom as far as the "rules" go. In my opinion if you're doing casual lolita, it should roughly be along the lines of:

>at least one small petticoat
>if wearing a skirt a cutsew is usually best
>flats can be okay as long as they aren't super basic/bad quality like in >>9511306
I know some people will give me shit for that but fuck you not all flats are created equal. Anyway.
>natural hair or natural colored simple wig (no huge twin tail clips)
>cardigans and boleros can help tone down dresses and make them more casual
>if the main piece has a busy print, accessories should be more simple (ex: solid tights/purse)
>common head accessories: beret, straw hat, small bow
>if the jsk is the right type, no blouse
>no converse, it always looks bad
>>
>>9511305
>no petti
Into the trash it goes

my favorite kind of casual lolita is cutsew or normie blouse + poofy patterned skirt. prints are a little too elaborate for casual lolita unless it's a simple monochrome one.
personally i think casual lolita needs at least a small petticoat, pic related. otherwise it starts to veer into otome territory.
>>
I really like black
>>
>>9512616
Otome kei is dead
>>
>>9512555
About sneakers, they are OK in sweet like the ones that AP or Baby did some years ago or Swimmer sneakers, maybe any sneaker pair with quality lace or ruffles would work as well. Plain converse look plain ugly as simple flats or loafers. You can add satin or organza laces (from ebay) to make them cuter or use these laces for Oxfords as well.
>>
>>9512536
Agreed, just because you wear a full coord daily doesn't make it "daily lolita"/ "casual" as we know the terms
>>
>>9512611
>>9512613

not a casual coord
>>
>>9512637
Otome kei never died, westernfag. It's only /cgl/ that seems to think it is its own thing. It's like "soft Lolita" or "casual Lolita" in Japan.
>>
>>9513648
you're just repeating info you've read on cgl.otome kei was used in Japan really really long ago and now it isn't. The term didn't just drop out of the sky into the western world.
>>

Yellow lenses? Not to be the whiteknighting friend, but I think it's just a case of weird lighting due to being in an arcade. Her lenses were green or gray or something.

What are people's opinions on axes femme for casual, I've had my eye on a couple pieces but I dunno if theyll have room in the skirt to provide enough poof for the silhouette.
>>
>>9520302
I own an op from them and it's great for mori and casual, especially in summer as it's so light and doesn't need a blouse or much else to make it work. It has heaps of room in the skirt for a petti. I think it mostly depends on the piece you want, as they often have a variety of cuts and styles but it can definitely be used in lolita. The ones in the pic you posted look a little short in length, depending on how tall you are.

The kawaii line is expressly meant to be lolita, it launched with a dress designed and promoted by Misako. Though, the petticoat (pannier) from that line is pretty low poof, as are their photos, so make of that what you will.

The rest of their stuff is a lot more varied, some will have enough poof and be long enough for lolita, others won't.
>>
>>9520394
Yes

>>9520452
I think it's meant for casual lolita on a budget
>>
>>9520469

>budget casual lolita

lol Misako's dress was a whopping 26, 27k yen. I think kawaii line was meant to be a serious go at serious lolita, but the market didn't bite hard enough, so now they've scaled back the prices.

Thank god they came to their senses. I love them mainly because they're non-lolita and cheap, not because they're yet another lolita brand.
>>
>>9520487
Honestly for the price they were asking, that dress is seriously underwhelming. They probably could have moved a lot more stock if they took off a bunch of the details and knocked 10k yen off the price tag.
>>
>>9520487
The quality of their other dresses isn't high enough to be a serious lolita brand.
>>
>>9520503
>>9520584

Yeah, I mean you can see where they poured the money into, this has to be the single most detailed, laciest, ruffliest, most embellished dress that AF ever made.

It's just kind of really out there compared to their regular merch so I don't think many of their regulars forked out money for it, and at the same time it's kind of really meh-tier for the serious lolitas. I would've been more surprised if it actually sold.

The Kawaii line had several releases before the Misako collab, more reasonably priced (under 15000 iirc), and prints i heard were drawn by (former?) designer from
Baby/A&tP

Huh. I thought the sequence of events was the other way around. My bad.

The other print they put out also around Misako dress's time was the pegasus frame print, and iirc it was also >20k yen. I distinctly remeber thinking it wasn't really worth splurging on aatp-price Axes-dress construction even if the designer was ex-aatp.
