I will say that I think the hair is a bit hard to translate off screen unless you really know what you're doing. Pic related is one that I've seen that I really like. Her hair reminds me of something you would see from the 80s. I think this example has the right amount of spiking, volume, and it's cut right and isn't just flipped out on the ends.
It's one of my favorite anime and is on my list for what I want to get done this year. Hopefully it doesn't end in disaster.

I mean this isn't a bad interpretation to be honest. Tagging it as lolita seems to look like as a cosplayer she isn't quite understanding as to what 'lolita' actually is. A lot of cosplayers don't. Actually it's pretty average. I've probably seen 2000 FFX-2 Rikku cosplayers in my time and this is pretty par for the course. I've seen some horrific ones and some really excellent ones. After awhile, everything blends together. When someone points out something pretty average and not downright terrible it's pretty nitpick anon. There's plenty of material out there and you choose the average "Sarah" from last weekend's "Whatevercon" Pretty nitpick if you ask me.

Most of the time I've seen people who learned they've been posted here do one of the two things

Or ask how to improve the cosplay, which most of the time people will legitimately help them on how to improve it which is why as a cosplayer I enjoy going through this thread. I watch what gets posted and why and I make sure not to make that same mistake

That is a lady I would gladly take aside and spend a couple hours fixing.
The potential is there. She reminds me of those "shocking" images of actors without their make up.
I'd steam that dress out and while that was cooling we'd do some foundation, subtle contouring, complimenting lipstick with some plumper in there, and some eyelashes if we were going the full mile.

Then fix that severe hair with some curls around the hairline, ears, and nape.
