I agree that most men look awful in ouji/aristocrat but I still prefer them wearing men's clothing a hundred times over gross men wearing dresses. Lolita is my normal clothes and I don't want men who don't pass for women to make it into a joke. For 95% of men it's a fetish or humiliation thing and I don't want to be associated with that shit.

If I know a "brolita" is going to be at a meetup I strongly consider not going. Of course any normal person will assume it's a costume or fetish thing if there's men walking around with us. Yeah, I just couldn't do most of that effeminate stuff that's out there. It's not just body type either, even if it fit me perfectly my face would still look totally ridiculous on top of it. I'd look just as silly in that stuff as I would in a dress, maybe even moreso.

As for still being into it, that's because I was into it before my ex and was sort of the one who got her into it. She also didn't really participate in the community, just wore stuff with a few friends, mostly at cons, so we weren't really exposed to the "dark side" of the lolita scene either.

For those manly dudes who don't really fit into one-size Japanese brands, advice I used to hear was to go with Western goth style instead, specifically Romantic Goth was supposed to be a near-perfect match for Aristo.
