Now that the TV series is airing, is anyone planning to cosplay from Little Witch Academia? Specifically training wheels Akko?
LWA has been on my "to cos" list since the first ova. I may do training wheels Akko at some point but I'll stick to the regular witch version for now. The series airing has soldified I must do it this year.

I was planning to do Akko for Acen this year, but now you're piquing my interest to disassemble my nephew's old trike bike for this.

I'm tempted to do it lazy and just cut a broom in half and stick the pieces in the front and back of this.

I wanna do Ms Ursula. I did back when LWA came out but haven't had the opportunity.
I'm gonna dump some cosplays I found/took, mostly from 2013

if anyone needs char ref sheets I have them too
>>9337109
Are they large resolution ref sheets? I've been looking for huge ones.

If there's any details about the wands, I'd love that. I wanna make a properly retractable one.
I can't thank the OP of this enough. How the heck I missed that the series had already started airing is beyond me. This is wonderful, and I love that they have started from Akko's arrival at Luna Nova. Training wheels Akko was a brilliant moment.

It slipped by me too and I'm a big fan of Yoshinari. I didn't even know the 2nd movie was out too.

Please post the reference sheets!

I've wanted to do a Sucy or Akko cosplay since I saw the first OVA, but never got around to it. I'd still like to.

Gonna at Anime Midwest if they bring TRIGGER to the con again.
What's the word for Sucy's hair color?
I remember that colour being really popular in jfash and lolita awhile back, but I can't find wigs this colour anymore by just typing gray/purple/mauve, everything's either too lilac or pink.
>>9348656
I see it descibed as 'puce' in places.
>>9348656
You could try 'taro', it's the sort of pinkish brown colour you're looking for.
>>9348696
That word didn't bring any wigs unfortunately.
>>9348710
THAT'S IT, thank you, anon, you're a life saver!
>>9348745
No problem! It's my favourite bubble tea flavour so i always remember the word HAHA
My friends and I are going to do Akko, Sucy, and Lotte for Fanime! I'm really excited and hope to see more cosplayers, too!
I do rarely see the robes done well (they're usually too loose or don't look flattering at all) so I'm hoping we can nail them.
I have been planning to finish Shiny Chariot since the previews of the OVA. Her design has everything I love.
I've attempted it twice now with satin and I'm thinking the white thing is just impossible to create in real life.
I have not tried boning yet (was thinking of minicking pic related) but it still does not account for how Shiny's cups still curve under and not just to meet in the middle like in the pic.
I put a dart there but it was ugly.. and I don't want to use something more stretchy because I'm afraid the parts above the cups will look weak, and won't match the non-stretch fabric of everything else.
Does anyone have any advice, ref pics of similar clothing items, or patterns...? I've never been more stuck. Although I'm only lower-intermediate level.

Maybe look at patterns that have underwire in addition to boning? It does look like a challenge.

Any good cosplay so far?

Previously I was sewing in a bra with a handmade center wire piece (was shaped like big U) that wouldn't show under the white thing, and it worked support-wise...but it's the material being stretchy enough to smooth out over the cups that's the problem.
I Almost wonder if something stupid like worbla, which I've never used before, would be feasible for just the boobs and up. I could hide the seam where it would attach to the fabric sleeves under the cape. Hmm

Have you considered using a streth fabric and nude mesh/stretch mesh? You can hide the hem of the nude mesh under her cape or at her little collar. That way you might be able to create a really fitted sort of bodysuit torso section as there'll be no actual seperate fabric pieces, and it'll hold everything in place.
That, or simply use a strip of clear/nude mesh or clear elastic to hold the 'inwards' sections of the chest area together.
Why most of them are so half assed

Small chested anon here. I made Shiny Chairs about 2 years ago for a summer con. I found McCall's pattern m6740 was a huge help for getting the bodice right. I followed the pattern for the cups and added forms from a bra for support, but extended the dip down the middle of the chest so it was in line with how Shiny's bodice is cut. I also had to do as another anon recommended and add a clear strap across the chest to keep everything in place, although I think it would have held without it. I was not shy with the double sided tape holding that sucker up.
>>9361507
Why not?
>>9357319
Somehow I didn't think about the mesh idea, but it's probably because I'm not small chested and I don't think it would cling well - it'd be like a flat panel across, I fear. However I haven't really touched that kind of dance/figure skater nude mesh stuff or looked into it so maybe it actually would work.
>>9361664
Wow thanks anon! In my previous versions I had the bra straps still in place, like it was a whole intact bra with a replaced middle piece. I would just hide it under the bodice.
I'll def look for this pattern. I will try anything at this point lol. I really hate clear elastic though so I will try to avoid it.
I want to plan Diana but I have no upcoming cons to wear her to. I like the witch uniform with the hat and shin guards the most so I'd probably do that one. Her hair is also something to tackle since I've never spliced wigs together. I've contemplated just dying the green looking highlights in her hair to a platinum blonde wig but I'm still on the fence.

Sexualizing little witches is not allowed! Bunnysuit versions of the teachers are fine.
Yaaaay
>>9361895
So cute! I know it'll never happen since she's unpopular, but I'm praying that a Jasminka nendoroid will come out someday, haha.
