Gonna get the conversation rolling with pics of some of the new Leur Getter and ETC releases. What do people think?
>>
>>9216259
I love that book print but wtf is that lacing on the side, it kills it.
>>
>>9216259
I think ETC has been improving again, the strawberry print is cute.
>>
>>9216259
That lacing on the book dress is really unfortunate though it may fit with someone's coreset-wearing-librarian aesthetic.

That stole is cute though.
>>
>>9216259

I don't know about anyone else but I have a mighty need for that squirrel JSK.
>>
>>9216259
I really like the Chaton Cat op in blue, desu
>>
>>9216430
Same. It's way, way too cute. The book OP could be cute with some alterations too
>>
>>9216259
That strawberry print is everything, but I like the other colorways more. Otherwise, the squirrel print is just too cute.
>>
>>9216259
God bless leur getter.

I they would have released a sleeveless cut. their cami cuts look terrible on me and my man shoulders don't fit in otome OPs
>>
>>9216259
I would love the book print if not for the weird lacing. I usually steer clear of strawberry prints because they're done to death, but even I would get that strawberry dress. Pls continue becoming cute again ETC.

I really love some of the stuff Leur Getter has been putting out and I'm super tempted to grab something, but I'm a little worried about the sizing since I've heard some people mention it runs pretty big. Anyone have any experience with how their stuff sits on around a 26 inch waist?
>>
>>9216248
Anyone know where I can get a simple book print jsk for around 8000 yen and will fit 100 cm bust?
>>
>>9217207

Modcloth.

Sry. But at least that dress is sort of cute?
>>
>>9216248
Otome isn't dead, just quiet. Instagram has a lot of otome related content, it just isn't necessarily tagged.
>>
>>9217243
>mfw I show up to the party and everyone's talking about the fashion being dead

I hope it's not, but hey. I know people who are still beating that dead mori horse so I'm okay with it...

what IG's would you recommend (even if they don't tag)?
>>
I'd like to get into otome, but my 100 cm bust is killing me.

Is modcloth the only option, as >>9217208 suggested?
>>
>>9217207
For 8000 yen, no, but Mullberry Chronicles had one that you could hunt down. If you're that stuck on the price however your only option is Modcloth
>>
>>9217394
No it's not. Awhile back someone with a 98cm bust posted tips. I would recommend searching the archives since I doubt she's still here atm.

For reference I also have a 98cm bust and I am fine so I think you could manage too but you will need to probably stick more to indie, some ETC, and Leur Getter. You will also need to invest in good boleros and and accept that you probably cannot wear otome brand sweaters. That being said some Meta ones can work. Finally you need to pay attention to cuts. A bad cut will make you look bad.

Little bit on the lolita side but...

>>9217394
Nah. At 104cm, I've got full on boobs of doom and I manage. You'll need to accept some limitations, but it's far from impossible
>>
>>9216259
ETC doesn't really feel like an otome brand to me, but I can't tell why

>>
new otome here: I understand that otome isn't ruled based like lolita and is more based on ~aesthetics~, but what are the things you just can't stand people doing. like what is your idea of an otome ita?
>>
Does anyone have any otome taobao stores they could point me in the direction of? I'm not sure how to search for them as easily as lolita

Basically - if it looks half assed rather than effortless, if it looks frumpy rather than kitschy, if it looks like a pettiless lolita rather than an outfit on its own, that's a 'notome.' See: half of the tag of otome kei.

Not saying that lolita can't be otome, but if you're going to throw on a walmart t-shirt and flat skirt and call it otome, it isn't.
>>
>>9217544
I don't think there are that many otome itas. Most often people miss the mark with otome by ending up dressing in another fashion and thinking it's otome or lumping half hearted attempts into the otome category not knowing what it is. i.e. someone wearing a lolita jsk and a cardigan and just looking sloppy or someone wearing head to toe ank rouge and ending up looking like average sweet girly fashion.
>>
>>9217565
Looks a lot better than the ETC op

>>9217189
I have a 24 inch waist and my LG jsk sits fine on me, no bigger than lolita dresses do.
>>
>>9217512
Anyone know where this fabric can be bought?
>>
>>9218406
If you don't mind me asking, which jsk do you have? The only thing that's been stopping me from buying things is all the waist measurements for even the shirred dresses estimating they start at 30 inches, but maybe they're (hopefully) inaccurate.
>>
>>9218465
The Japanese models have probably a 22 inch waist. I have quite a few leur getter items and have the same waist measurement as you, it will be fine. It's often recommended to people with larger measurements because their shirred items are more forgiving in the chest, not so much the waist. Hope this helps!

I really enjoy the styling of Otome, more so than lolita, but I like i can cross over my items.

I guess the latest would be this ETC skirt from closet child. Hoping to pair it with tights and tone the print down.
>>
>>9219128
Wasn't nessarily going to pair these two together, they are just my recent grabs.

I just like that some items can be coorded into lolita or otome.
When styling otome I still pull colors from whatever jsk I'm wearing, but I am not totally concerned about matching, I just make sure my colors have the same undertone. I go for that polished kitschy look.
>>
>>9216259
I'm really disappointed that I missed out on the squirrel print.

>>
>>9219536

>>
I'm so sad that LG designer left ETC. ETC was my favourite brand and now most of their stuff looks so different in a bad way. Meanwhile LG is competing to be one of the most boring brands out there, with their cuts and prints always the same. I'm actually losing interest in the fashion. Most of my wardrobe is ETC and now I just look for older ETC pieces secondhand because none of the otome brands really interest me. I need a new favourite brand.
>>
>>9216259
That book dress looks lackluster and I swear this is a commercial fabric I've seen somewhere.
>>
>>9219946
>commercial print
...read the thread, hun
>>
>>9219920
I am still new to otome, but I feel like ETC hasn't put out any hits recently. I want more LG too, but they release only about once a month and if a print isn't your thing, then it's another few weeks before the next one.

I guess if can't complain since I don't have to drop hundreds in a new release every month. Maybe it's time for Jane Marple?
>>
>>9218392
>>9219920
I feel like taobao brands and girly Japanese normie brands will eventually get ahead of ETC and LG in the near future, as what they put out at thw moment are very disappointing.

ETC had a good balance of predictable and quirky designs; now LG has took the predictable cuts on their own hands and made them almost identical to every other release, and ETC literally cannot put out a nicely print and cut combination anymore. There are so many more choices nowadays to dress girly, these two brands need to get their shit together.

Another question; while looking through their site I stumbled upon this paragraph. Google translate suggest it's some kind of payment plan option. Does anyone know more about it?

That's something you can do in Japan with a Japanese credit card, something like splitting up the payments without incurring interest? I've never really understood it and it's probably not even available to us anyway.

Where do you buy basics like cardigans and blouses? I'd like to start wearing otome more often and want some wardrobe extenders. Preferably from the US.
>>
>>9229219
How plain do you want them? My wardrobe filler cardigans are from uniqlo. They're not too long and are a little loose through the sleeves and body so they work with the otome look.
>>
>>9229219
An outlet mall opened up near me recently and the Talbots had a lot of basic cardigans
>>
>>9229219
H&M always has very basic cardigans in a variety of colors.
>>
>>9229219
I love Axes Femme cardigans! They are a little more special than normalfag cardigans and work well for otome and lolita alike.
>>
>>9229219

Oh cardigans, my favorite item.

Western brands will usually have basic cardigans. Be aware of quality. Some brands that are my go to are loft, ann taylor, and talbots. The former two occasionally have patterned cardigans which can go with some outfits. Modcloth also has pretty otome-able cardigans, but they are pretty pricey so maybe wait for a sale.

Japanese cardigans tend to fit with the otome style better imo. Axes femme as >>9229408 mentioned go a lot better with otome and lolita because of the small details, which I adore. Look at girlier brands too which may not necessarily be otome like Liz Lisa, L'est Rose, Franche Lippee, Lodi Spot, Lois Crayon, etc. etc.

Out of all the brands I really love Axes Femme the most. They're really work appropriate too if you some frills in the office life.
>>
>>9229219
Fint is my favorite because the price point is just right for quality (but they are Japanese).

In the US i'd try womens business clothing stores or uniqlo since the cuts will be more boxy. The 3 most important things to look for are that it be cut fairly short (most cardigans are far too long for otome), that it can close comfortably and not be skin tight (get a larger size if needed), and personal preference, that the buttons go all the way up to the neck and not v-neck style. Although v-neck can work sometimes like pic related, usually i find off brand v-necks to be too normie looking.
>>
Heres a nice but kind of plain cardi from uniqlo US. The cut is just right.

>>
Want to get some otome and loliable blouses and cardigans, will anything Axes Femme or Liz Lisa fit a 97 bust or will I have to resort to Chinese knockoffs?
>>
>>9234523
The sites usually list the measurements of the garments, but really you'd be resorting to knockoffs.
>>
>>9234523

LMAO ignore salty not-that-fat-shaming anon

You will be able to go with some AF items, but probably Liz Lisa is a nope
>>
>>9234523
I know that AF and LL are super small, but you could see if Lolita brands offer anything you could use? I'm 96cm and have a bunch of BSSTB and ETC cardigans that fit fine.

Something worth noting is that thicker knit fabrics have more stretch than thinner fabrics - though it can be hard to tell from photos.
>>
>>9234830
I have 90+ bust and agree with you, knitted cardigans are much better than cutsew ones, and go for loose styles than fitted. That way even if you're on max end of measurements it should still fit ok, and they're cute enough to go with a dress that fit you well.
>>
Offtopic but shout-out to the anons in the last few otome threads for being super helpful with beginner questions; thanks to you guys I just got my first branded otome piece (a Leur Getter jsk) and I haven't felt so happy with a fashion since when I first discovered lolita years ago.
To get things more on-topic, what sorts of head accessories do you like to pair with outfits? I find myself leaning on berets a little too much, but simple headbands sometimes look a little too subtle.
>>
>>9234523
JM's looser cardigans would fit you well. I have one I don't wear because it's comically huge on me. It measures 50 cm flat. Their cardigans are not worth full price but they're pretty easy to pick up second hand for reasonable amounts.
>>
Is this sweater good for otome? I live in Texas and can't justify spending a whole lot on anything past short-sleeve.

>>
Anyone have a good recommendation for otome-appropriate petticoats? I know they're definitely not needed, but I feel like some dresses with fuller skirts could definitely be paired with one to have a subtle silhouette. I've been looking at bodyline, but they either look too floofy or way too short.
