I think Natural Kei is more your best bet.
Mori in my mind is more feminine with long skirts, layer after layer of lace and undyed cottons.
Natural Kei is less 'Girl living in the forest' and more 'Person living near the forest' you can also use richer colors.

Mori threads have died down a little bit around here but check the archives for terms like mori general, mori kei, strega, and mori inspo. It's mostly female-oriented but you could probably find some pics of mori boys on your own. Most people shop at thrift stores or use Taobao and Aliexpress.
