It's the arms that do it, Rein has crazy gigantic gorilla arms. You MIGHT be able to play with perspective to make them look bigger but it would seriously infringe on the number of poses you could do down to maybe one or two.

Basically, you need to make the arms longer than your actual arms and add fake hands. Depending on how complex you wanted to get, the hands could be fixed in place or articulated, and either mechanically or electronically controlled.

As for the gun, it's sort of tough because there's no canonical holster for it, so you kind of have to hold both props in your hand if you have both of them. I've casually thought about cosplaying Mercy and decided that I'd probably either use magnets to hold it against my side or add some sort of underarm holster that fits with the rest of the design.

Now that you mention it, I can definitely see it. The white has a really slimming effect because you don't even notice the black on her sides/back by comparison, but if you actually LOOK at it you can see that she's kinda thick. Clearly not obese or anything, but thicker.

I personally don't like how big she is, because Zarya is supposed to be super buff, but the custome is pretty good.

I'm still upset that she won, because that Pharah was 100 times better.
There was so much more effort put into it, and she looked much more like Pharah, and she didn't even get placed.

My problems with her are exactly what you said -- the hair being number one. Secondly, I think she could've done something to make herself look a little less out of shape. As a powerlifter, I know that not all powerlifters look anything more than fat sometimes. Pic related. This girl is like 16 and benches 240lbs.

However, Zarya has muscle definition, and that's an important part of her character design, and I think that could've been helped on stage with makeup. I would be equally disappointed by a skinny Roadhog.
