It would have been much better with cream blouse and leg wear, brown or black shoes (nicer ones than the ones you're wearing because those look ratty and not cute) and a simple bow or flower in the hair matching either the skirt or the shoes. I take a combination of advice from both sources, but I find that /cgl/ is more "real" if that makes sense. People can say what they mean without fear of retaliation or a bad reputation on here, so I trust the advice more. Often, an outfit's issues would never have been discussed if not posted here. I would be oblivious if I only followed what was said on CoF, and I wouldn't have as good an outfit. So I don't take advice from one OR the other, but from both, though I put more stock in advice from here.

There's a balance between personal taste and objectivity. If multiple people are saying the same thing about something they love/hate in an outfit, I give the statement more credit towards being objective. Some comments are just blind hatred or adoration, which aren't very useful. I'm never truly confident in what I want an outfit to be like in the first place, so I'm very open to making changes. I just reconcile my own taste with others' opinions and make compromises if I don't simply outright agree with what is being said. I feel I look my best when I'm personally happy with the outfit and I feel that it is well-received by others. Making changes facilitates that.
