Convention news
>Tomoplay updated their programming
>I've heard some rumours about Gerjan doing an "Alternatief Slapen" for Nishicon, but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

Next five conventions
>TomoPlay (July 2nd & 3rd, Berghem NB) is a retro video game, card and board game related meetup. Tickets are €2,50 or €5 including the shuttle bus from Oss CS.
>Castlefest (August 5th - 7th, Lisse ZH) is an outdoor midievil/fantasy convention. Ticket prices change every month so check the site.
>Tropicon (August 13th, Duisberg, Germany) is a pool/beach cosplay party located at a 30 minute drive from Venlo (LB). Tickets are €5 and can be purchased at the door.
>Abunai! (August 26th - 28th, Veldhoven NB) is the other big anime convention. Hotel rooms are all long gone and day tickets are running low so buy yours while you still can.
>Amsterdam Comic Con (August 27th & 28th, Amsterdam NH) is a comic fair very similiar to DCC, except this one is hosted by Showmasters. Tickets start at €15 a day.
The full and more detailed convention agenda can be found in the pastebin: http://pastebin.com/QaZ23aUA
Finally, if I missed anything, feel free to post it in the thread and I'll add it to the pastebin and/or in the next OP.

exposing comments about others isn't going to do anything but add fuel to the fire, especially the social justice warriors from facebook. Which means more entertainment for us.
>>
>>9070039
You likely aren't aware, because you do not fall in the demography, but these young kids aged 12~16 are crazy about YouTube and Dutch youtubers!!! I was once at a station, and there was this random 20-something guy with all these teenage kids around him. Turned out he was also one of those 'famous Dutch youtubers' that young kids look up too. I think it was Furtjuh.
>>
>>9071832
Maybe it's just the initials of the person's name? I mean, it could be just a lone wolf trying to be smart here.
>>
>>9071989
They've been popping op on tv too for a few segments here and there.

Personally none of them interest me, at least the beauty channels have girls that seem somewhat down to earth/non obnoxious?
>>
>>9072005
Yeah, personally I think NikkieTutorials is the best Dutch youtuber. She seems like a pretty down to earth person, and hasn't been on tv, nor involved in any Dutch youtube drama as far as I'm concerned.
>>
I do enjoy a stuktv video once in a while, but sometimes they have to do lame assignments.
>>
>>9072014
Yeah she seems pretty sweet!

I think I watched a single video of Enzoknol once and holy shit is he cringy.
Also recently watched some decently popular dutch lets players and fuck they're either trying to be a worse version of Pewdiepie or try so hard to be edgy and mature it ends up the same as the former.
>>
Ugh Enzoknol is cringy af. I dunno if anyone knows OnneDi?
>>
Anyone wants to share something about Fan Base Culture or the Rotterdam Cosplay event?

>>
dus, hinata cosplay voor 20 euro?
>>
>>9073287

>>
>>9073287
That Hinata cosplayer looks creepy rather than cute.

>>
>>9073287

well, now they're telling everyone not to be so negative, well maybe person number whatever should think before asking for a 20 euro comission, getting real tired of cosplayNL and their whiteknights
>>
>>9073469
Well, I do agree that it's kind of unnecessary to post that it's unrealistic, after 5 other people said the same beforehand already.
>>
>>9073145
Heard that the organizations were saying it was a success.
>>
>>9072097
I know onneDi, what about her?
>>

I would be surprised if those organisers would have said otherwise, since they consider everything they do a success

Well, DCH takes his sweet time to expose us.
As expected.

Any thoughts seagulls? I can't help but wonder why anyone would use Instagram filters to begin with, let alone adding them onto professional pictures.
>>
>>9076657
I agree, I never put a filter on photographers pictures of me, also being a photographre myself, I would be hella pissed if someone decides to put a filter over the picture, so the picture isn't good enough? Why, I would've loved to hear that before you put it online......

A Cammy cosplayer in Florida was the source of a lot of controversy. According to several guests her costume was “too revealing” for a family friendly convention, forcing the convention to take action. They gave the girl the choice between covering up her legs or leaving the con immediatly. The Babbelbox thinks this is obnoxious nitpicking and asks: “What’s the worst nitpicking you have ever encountered at a convention?”
>>
>>9076995
I remember being turned away from a concert at Animecon a few years ago for carrying a 0.5l bottle of Spa Blauw with me. No explanation, no reasoning, just the gopher going "you can't take that inside" on me.

Also it's a shame Dutch posts get deleted by mods, the Babbelbox just isn't the same in English.
>>
>>9076995
Did you see her though? Everything was falling out in the front.
>>
>>9076995
Every step a little lip slip, sharing is caring :D
>>
>>9077049
Didn't you kind of bring that over yourself? I mean: Animecon is pretty clear about what you can and can't bring into certain areas, and the theatre has been a no-drinks zone from the start.

>Didn't you kind of bring that over yourself?
I've been to seven or eight editions of Animecon, and that was the first and only time I was told to get rid of my water bottle before entering the theatre. It's a silly rule that hardly ever gets enforced and everybody knows it; hence the "mierenneukerij" part.

No, in Dutch it's a bunch of fuckin gobbledegook because most of us speak English 'round here. I know just enough Flemish to tell my kids they're in deep shit (Belgian grandmother) but I sure as hell can't write it.
>>
>>9076995
not really nitpicking, but this is the nr1 reason I take a long green scarf with me whenever I put on my poison Ivy cosplay. It has a french cut, so you see a lot of booty, but I am always able to cover up if I am asked to and it fits the costume.
>>
Are there any meet ups orginized for newfags? Trying to find some online, but cant seem to stumble upon them
>>
>>9077049
Because you can´t take drinks into the theatre, has been a rule since 2004 because visitors turned the event rooms into a pigsty when it was still allowed.

If you don´t get caught, does not mean that the rule has been relaxed, you where just lucky.
>>

Man bijt hond had a kind of purity and simplicity in it you just don't see in today's television anymore. It's one of the only shows that never gave me the feeling it felt manufactured.

>DCC: Christmas edition
Funny how we went from no Comic Con-like conventions to four of them per year.
>>
>>9078366
too bad it's in Maastricht. 2,5 hour drive for me -convenient-, but considering it's all the way towards belgium, probably turn more into a belgian comic con rather than dutch comic con, but we'll see
>>
>>9078473
2 hour train ride for me, which combined with the fact that it's a comic con style con gives me enough reason to stay clear of it. On the other hand, it's close to Kerkrade meaning I could easily hand the Golden Garden Gnome to CK...
>>
3 weeks after Firstlook and Nishicon, in the weekend of MCM.
One week before christmass madness and in the middle of nowhere.
I'll stay away from these two.
>>
>>9078366
Something tells me the Christmas edition will fail. Maybe I'll be wrong.
>>
>>9078701
also start getting my doubts on the halloween one though. they announced it in march, were quick to tell 1 guest, and then nothing....and now they are promoting again, seems kind of last minute considering a convention needs a lot of planning and organizing, but hey, had that same feeling with ACC, but they seem to do quite well now, so I'll just keep on waiting....
>>
>>9076699
If someone prefers an ugly Instagram filter instead of your Lightroom skills, you should indeed improve.
>>
>>9078886
OR the cosplayers are fucktards and think it adds something to the picture, while in fact the picture looks pretty badass without the filter (think those high contrast filters or b&w filters)
>>
>>9078919
At least they don't add the Snapchat dog ears to it before sharing...
>>
>>9078919
It's mostly them being insecure, they hate their own body and want to hide it.
That's why so many use the dog filter to hide their nose and think tattoo's are super cool
It's not
.
>>
>>9079237
nothing wrong with tats though, just don't take them because you are insecure, regret is around the corner
>>
>>9079237
Well I'm not too surprised about that. Your nose is like one of the most important parts -if not the most important part- that can break or make your beauty. Facial features already matter more than how your body looks (selfies are all about faces), and the beauty of your face is largely determined by your nose.
>>
>>9079968
first thing I look at when I meet a person, not their eyes, not their smile, their nose haha
>>
>>9078919
>This picture looks too new and digital, lets add a vintage filter over it to make look like an old photograph because that totally fits my cosplay of a cat girl with a face mask! All my 71 followers will LOVE this nyaaa~~~~!
The worst part is that someone, somewhere, will have had this line of thought before posting on Instagram.

>>9079994
I always look at their eyes first, followed by the mouth, hair, jawline, nose, and anything else that's out of the ordinary or draws my attention (ie jewellery, tattoos, missing limbs, breasts, ass etc). I love eyes, they tell you more about a person than anything else on their body.
>>
>>9079237
Well... it is a bit weird nowadays.

People who post all the selfies with the apps that insta smooth skin, add fake eyelashes etc.

Or the oldskool way, just wearing buttloads of make-up.

And the quite big of amount of people that respond on it going wowzers!

So it really makes me wonder if it is insecurity or the new norm.
>>
>>9080035
Not to me. I use make-up to get my character done well. But in daily life? Nah. Costs too much time. But I'm possibly part of the minority that's actually happy with how she looks.
>>
>>9080066
>>9080035
though I do think there are still people with insecurities, I am a preson that uses makeup on a daily basis, I don't hate the way I look, I enhance the features, byebyte red spots and dirk cirkels, hello dark lashes insteds of blond, a brow would be nice instead of these light hairs that look like they don't exist, a little colour on the cheecks to not look dead....

Smething I REALLY dislike about this day and age is that people tell girls they shouldn't wear "all that makeup" because they are insecure/ because it's not natural, but when you don't wear makeup they tell you you are ugly..... tons of girls buy makeup to get that natural look, most of you can't even tell which of 'em.
Not a personal rant to you guys, just putting it out there

>/CGL/ shares the video after 5 years
>Suddenly people are talking about it again
>Two months later, gossip is going wild again
You know, in a way I feel sorry for her. It reminds me of a (hot) teacher who got fired for a porn she did back in college...
>>
>>9080073
There is nothing wrong with pornography. It's a job. Every human being can decide for their-selves what they do with their body and life. I don't think anyone has the right to judge her for what she did or the decisions she made. There are so many young girls out there and I worry about their slutty behavior and their drinking problems. If people are too prude to deal with the fact almost everyone in this world watches porn, maybe you shouldn't be on the internet.
>>
>>9080119
I think that, what's more embarrassing for her, would be the cringeyness around that porn, and not so much the fact it was porn what she did. But I think she also knows that fact, else she wouldn't call it a mistake. I kinda feel bad for her she can't somehow get at least that page removed on the kim holland website.
>>
>>9080035
I think it has more to do with competitiveness, everyone wants to be the fairest of them all. So if person A has a smooth skin, person B wants an even smoother skin than person A.

At least, that's how I feel about all those girls that want to look like a human doll.
>>
>>9080119
Indeed, there is nothing wrong with watching porn. Starring in one and regretting it afterwards however can haunt you for the rest of your career and life. Hence why I feel sorry for her; it's been five years and suddenly you are confronted again with a mistake you made so many years ago. Shit like that is enough to make you lose your mind if you can't find a way to stand above it.
That or maybe I've just gone soft when it comes to these things after watching "Hot Girls Wanted" on Netflix.
>>
>>9080073
People talked about it before. It started here with that an Anon told, that a friend said there's a lolita porn video on the Kim Holland site.
Not that CGL isn't part of it (we are). But there's more to the matter.
>>
>>9080119
It's not about the fact that people watch porn, child. It's about the fact that one day you could be walking through the mall and lock eyes with a girl you watched take 3 dicks in her just 2 hours ago. Nothing can erase that awkwardness.
And just as someone's past job shouldn't affect how people regard them, it's still not exactly a smooth transition in the real world. Actors in that business get paid so much partly because they're signing off the possibility of someone recognizing them.
>>
>>9080225
Except a lot of them are pushed or tricked into it with a relatively low pay for their first few videos. Plus a lot of girls who get scouted have issues going on in their life (ie low self-esteem, depression etc)
>>
>>9080225
Yes it is a bit ackward at first, but learn to step over that, it has been 5 years ago, she was 19 at the time.
>>
>>9080066
Yes, anon, you are definitely not like the other girls.
>>
>>9080073

Sauce on the pron? (hot) teacher pron that is.
I saw the B-grade Kim Holland porn already.
>>
>>9080225

That is such bullshit! When you reach a certain age you realise that most girls have been fucked before you managed to stick your dick in it.

Does it stop you from plowing her? I think I'll speak for the majority of men/females and say no; you would do that chick just as hard as Jerome did two months ago.
>>
>>9080073
Some mistakes simply are THAT big......

Shooting someone in the face can at one point feel like the right thing to do, but at a later point in life cause a lot of regret and can be considered a mistake.

Some choices can become mistakes that will haunt you for life.

Having sex on camera is one of those.
(PS I am very very very well aware that killing someone is a very extreme comparison, but hey, you get the point right?! Some things are not just forgotten and left in the past.)
>>
>>9080573
If I recall correctly, it was a Dutch teacher who got fired after students found a porn video of her from over 10 years ago. This happened a few years back so good luck finding the sauce on that.
>>
>>9080225
It doesn't matter what people do in their sex lives, nor do you have the right to judge someone for it. If you're disgusted by it; you're the problem.
>>
>>9074109
If it would come down to just dutch youtubers I would like to meet her, she seems like a great person.
>>
>>9079968
people complain about others not being good-looking enough but when you get a nose job everyone will still judge you.
>>
>>9080119
/telling society not to judge somebody
ha ha ha
really, stop living in a dream world.
>>
>>9080068
>>9080066
I didn't mean it that way. It's mostly me being content and too lazy to actually do something to make me look 'nice'. I can only be bothered to put on make-up for special occasions because I'm just a cheapskate like that.
>>
>>9080582
There's a pretty big difference between someone having had previous sexual experience and someone who got sexually degraded on camera for the enjoyment of strangers.

>sage for not being /cgl/-related
>>
>>9080682
Bullshit, I don´t know how much she got paid for it, and that´s the keyword, she got paid for it, she was not forced to do this or tricked into.

You don´t might like Kim Holland and the polderporno she produces, it is still a Dutch company wich has to adhere to Dutch rules. Police and Arbo would have a fieldday is she and her company decided to piss on those rules.
>>
>>9081447
So she got paid to be sexually degraded on camera for the enjoyment of strangers. Yeah, that's much better.
>>
>>9080073

I'm probably the only one concerned that she is holding a white sheet of paper.. You know, the kind that is easily shopped and have another text written in it.
>>
>>9081690
Yup, a lot of paid jobs are in fact degrading, making porn is just of one of them.
>>
>>9081742
>>9081742
>>9081742
That 's actually logical
You have jobs that bring fullfilment and money and you have the jobs that only pay money and would never be done voluntairily. You go to school to avoid having to do the leftover shitjobs.
>>
>>9081690

You keep saying degraded, but you and me both would bang several ''hot'' pornstars without getting paid for it.

People have done some degrading shit in their life.
Girl I regularly had sex with went to 'sex cinema's' with me. Would end up with either more girls to bang or more dicks to gobble down.

Depraved? Yes. Degrading? No.

Yes it's not done on camera's besides the tapes I have at home. Only thing that makes it different is that one is publicly available (after a long search) and the other one is something you have to come to terms with.

Noone walks away the same after seeing someone shit in the mouth of someone else.
>>
>>9080669
Yep, unfortunately people can be narrow minded by that. I think a nose job, or any other plastic surgery is fine. The only thing that's worrisome is when people alter it to the point of uncanny. Peach Milky Tea also had a nose job, which honestly made her a lot prettier than before, and she did receive a lot of support. So I think slowly, people are getting less judgy on those things. That said, of course you also should do these things for yourself, and not others. If you like your nose the way it is, don't alter it just to please others, and be proud to show it.
>>
>>9080589
A mistake can never be undone, but one who can acknowledge their mistake, and ask for forgiveness, may be forgiven.

Well at least, being raised with Christian morals, that's how I feel about it.
>>
I've done some stupid things when I was 15, she was legal and decided by herself to do porn, now shes asking for forgiveness. Girl you were old enough to figure that doing something like that will bite you in the ass afterwards.
>>
>>9081988
This!

But also the fact that its only mentioned on 4chan and she is now posting something like that on fb.. when most people react like they dont know what happened and ask.. she wants to keep it private.. like.. girl. If you wanted to keep it private, you wouldnt let yourself be filmed like that.

I make mistakes all the time.. but I know pretty well I shouldnt send nudes to anyone.. let alone film myself fucking someone and put it on the internet. Thats a whole different matter. She shouldve thought about her future. About the fact that she would get in trouble if someone found it while she is applying for a job. Shes lucky that she is able to run a store, but if things go bad and she needs to get a different job.. it will be a whole other story.
>>
>>9082007
Agreed, I can't help but cringe while reading all the comments on that post, and only one girl had the guts to say what's on everyone's mind; don't make a post like this if you down want to tell what's it about. If anything she is making more people curious about she had done while also coming across like an attention whore. But hey who knows, maybe she's planning to do another video soon and wants to hype up her adult career or something.

Well becoming an adult doesn't magically turn you into someone who doesn't make mistakes anymore. I don't really see the use of being all judgy against her. If companies don't hire her, that's between her and the companies. But for me it's more like "OK I know you did that." Done. I don't see the point in being all "Eww you did that." like a middle school-er.

You guys can be real jerks! Anyone who in a PB asks me what on earth ai did, i honestly say the story! Yes i fucking did porn! Yes I had NO OTHER CHOICE! And yes, I's rather not post somethinge like "i fucked for money" would you?! It is private! And the only reason i posted this, is to just make an end to the fucking bullshit of backtalking about me!

At the time I lost my job (at a telemarketing office), I had a very very difficult time with my family, I had debt and to the point where i recieved a "final warning", i had no boyfriend anymore, the people that I turned to ask begged to help me out it turned out there weren't there fore me... I was all alone, nobody would save me and I was just 18 and studying! It was either pay, or get kicked out of school!! There was absolutely no other option! Under ANY normal circumstances i would not do this!! After this I deleted anything related to this... And tries to just forget about it... There are thousands of girls everywhere... Why on earth would i ever be so special? I am not even pretty anyway!

Really anyone who asks me politely what happened, i tell them what i did, and i told all my close friends honestly, and my classmates, and my close-family. If you want to hear my story, go ahead, but get the damn balls to just ask me! If you dislike it, go on, you can say it. Sorry man!

Ofcourse i hoped very much that maybe it will all go over soon. Wishfull thinking I assume... Yes I got fucked ONCE for money... I made sure it paid very well, enough to pay off ALL MY DEBTS and my school for the entire semester! And my books...! I spent that cash very wisely And made sure I NEVER have to do anything like that ever again!

Ofcourse I am ashamed. It is natural and awkward as fuck. After the time I went my own course and now I have a wonderfull job! I crawled from the lowest, the lowest possible point in life, all the way back up! So screw you for being such a pussy and hating me for it! love all of you! Especially the haters!

I guess this does prove one thing: If we have to dig this old stuff up from time to time, the Dutch cosplay scene has, luckily, not so much drama as CosplayNL queens would have us believe.
>>
>>9082706
I haven't seen your tape, but I think you approach it from the wrong direction. You had sex and got paid for it. Most people here have to pay for it otherwise they will never get it.. That is far worse.
And, hell, the only other "community" vid out there is the Abunai tape. It can't be worse and more boring than that one.

But it you want it to go away, that will not happen. But what is possible is to never respond on any topic about it. Responding only feeds the fire, no matter what you write. The topic was already passed in the previous thread, but came up again with your Facebook post, and will now carry on for a week now that you posted here.
Just stay away from 4-Chan for 10 days, and we have all forgotten all about it again.
>>
>>9082707
It really doesn't. Even this thread isn't always about drama. We had some nice convention chit-chat here that was pretty drama free. I think part of the people here just want to hold conversations and discussions, while others are here purely for the gossip/drama.
>>
>>9082146
Aww that poor Moroccan anime fan, let me as a qt Dutch cosplay girl post my skype here so I can console him and eventually become his girlfriend~
Is that what you want to hear? You're thirsty as fuck, bro. Now I'll definitely never date a Moroccan guy I met at an anime con because there's a chance it might be you.
>>
>>9082706
As I have already said in this thread, I feel sorry for you and what happened. Having something like this haunting you for the rest of your life is a terrible thing to live with and can drive you mad. But that's about all the support you will get out of me because just like everyone else on this planet, I too am an asshole.

I've just checked the /cgl/ archives and we stopped caring about your video in the same thread it got posted in, sometime late May. Aside from one line in a thread recap, there hasn't been a single mention of you on /cgl/ until the day you made that "edgy teenage angst attention whoring"-style Facebook post screaming "I DID SOMETHING WRONG, PLEASE FORGIVE ME BUT I WONT PUBLICLY TELL YOU WHAT IT WAS SO PLEASE GIVE ME ATTENTION IN THE FORM OF A PM IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT I DID DESU!".
Now I'm not saying we aren't to blame as the "big bag 4chan", because due to Anon sharing the video, we are partially to blame to this new wave or rumours. But if you want to point fingers, don't just point them at us, but point them at EVERYONE who has been gossiping about you, even long after we stopped caring about you and your entire existence.
With that being said, don't let it get you down too much. One thing I can assure you is that /cgl/ has the attention span of a goldfish, and will have surely forgotten all about this entire thing by the time OP makes a new thread. After that, it's a matter of cutting ties with the back stabbers that claim to be close to you.
>>
>>9082751
Originally came for convention pictures as I had forgotten my camera, found drama and stayed for the random chit-chat and convention talk.
>>
>>9082706
Awww, dear Nana, if you fuck for a pron movie to make some money you have to realise that it is never going to be private anymore. And no matter what people will talk and gossip about.

But I have to salute you, you got out of it what you wanted, enough money to pay your debts and some extra's and these day's you run a real life shop and a web-shop, that is better than you could have hoped for 5 years ago.

It was maybe not the smartest thing to do, but it was the quickest one, and one can wonder what kind of difficulties and harrasment you would have faced if you turned to the social services for financial help.
>>
>>9082719

As someone who has just been following this thread recently_ can someone explain what this Abunai video is all about?
>>
>>9083624
oh you don't have to be on cgl to know about the abunai vid. During abunai in a specific room they made a sex tape, and now when abunai rooms are up for sale it is kind of an inside joke for who will get that room. The vid itself is just not spectaculair.
>>
>>9082706
I get that you regret making the porn flick, but asking for pity from your friends, who for the most part didn't know you made a porn is just attention whoring.
>>

The Kim Holland vid i already saw but anon mentioned the Abunai video and that got me curious seeying as I never heard about it (yes i live under a rock)

>>
>>9083772
Just google Abunaicon and sextape and you should get a few hits.
Basically it a a vid of 2 haveing sex with and you recognise the Abunai wristbands.
>>
>>9082706
Yes people are jerks.
But who is being hateful???

All people are saying, or at least I was, is that making a porn and expecting something to stay forgotten is silly. That will haunt you for life, even without you bringing attention to it.

I am pretty sure no one hates you for making such bad choices except yourself. There are plenty of other emotions people feel when watching your porn or realising you made that porn.

>>
>>9084334
I enjoy a lot of them, lot of girls in other countries do this. Don't know if Dutch girls do this, but it's not a minus in my book if they would.
>>
>>9084334
It can look beautiful when done right. I do prefer cuteness over cool sexiness, though. But that's just my personal taste. Also I'm confused between burlesque, pin-up, and boudoir. I feel like I can't tell the difference between them.
>>
>>9084001
The HEV Suit from Half Life is the first thing that comes to mind. Although now I think of it, that might partially be due to my beard, glasses and my new hair cut screaming Gordon Freeman.
Thanks anyway Anon, I'm having a hard time deciding and finding something that fits me personally and physically. Armours really seem to be the way to go for me.
>>
>>9084456
I'm going all 90's and 00's recently...
>>
>>9084398
I think anon meant 'underwear' pics. Which is boudoir I think?
>>
>>9084398
Burlesque is the corsets/sexy dresses and is for show, so it really is showgirl themed, though the 20's is a fav for burlesque.
Pin up is just 50's style clothing but just in a sexy way, pin up was also a thing in the 50's itself, classy sexy (fully clothed) pictures, or in corsets but that is actually a lot more rare
Boudoir has the meaning in it's name, it meand bedroom, so "classy" pictures in the bedroom, either lingerie, partially nude, or fully nude. Some girls say they do boudoir but thn it's clearly erotica......

now you have a short impression of the 3
>>

Tomoplay was such a disaster. It was deserted, the upstairs rooms smelled horrible. The rooms upstairs that didn't have the option of opening windows were even worse. They had one screen for Overwatch which was being camped by the same people the whole day. There were multiplayer games but you couldn't play against each other because there was only one controller plugged in. Left as soon as the first bus was driving to the station again. Just stay at home and play some games/demo's/multiplayer games at home, alone or with your friends, you will have the same experience.

Anyone here ever tried making money through streaming sites/twitch?
>>
>>9089948
never tried making money there but I'm sometimes watching streams by others.

When you are only doing streams hoping to get donations you will have a bad time.
Setting up a good stream is a lot more work as it looks like and needs good equipment that you have to buy as well.
Unless you have a huge following or you are really good looking on the camera it is not really profitable in my opinion.

If you already like to stream because it's fun there is nothing wrong to ask for donations but don't expect others to throw thousands of dollars to you for nothing.

If you really want money the easy way do porn instead.
>>
>>9089948
>Be good looking
>Invest in a proper recording setup
>Learn how to edit properly
>Post content about popular items, games or movies on a regular base. Don't stick to one franchise however as you'll be limiting the amount of fans you can get
>Top 10 Reason You Won't Believe Why Clickbait Works
>Adsense
>Market yourself everywhere to gain popularity
>Like, share and subscribe
>Don't imitate other YouTubers, and Pewdiepie is pure cancer.
>Have a lot of luck
Alternatively, you can also just wear cosplays on Chaturbate and make more money than any YouTube or Twitch channel could ever make you. "5000 tokens and Asuka takes the Entry Plug in the pooper"
>>
>>9090087
I think you underestimate the amount of money you can make from twitch subscribers , and doing porn can bite you in the ass if you want a different career later

>>9089948
Setting up a stream is easy, the hard part is breaking through and getting your first viewers/subscribers but it's possible
>>
>>9090097
I know you can make a lot of money by streaming, but I just can't help but feel that it requires a lot of time, luck and dedication in order get that big breakthrough. Personally I'd rather spend my time on other things rather than on trying to make it on a streaming platform.
>>
>>9090097
Of course it is possible to get a lot of money with twitch but that certainly isn't true for every streamer out there. To get subscribers you need to be twitch partner first and that alone takes some time and a lot of luck.

I have seen some incredibly talented people with great setup and presentation, who 'only' get around 30 views and just very little pocket money as donation.
Of course you can boost yourself with self promotion and stuff but that is in no way a guarantee you will get popular.

Few are lucky in this... most are not.
Don't fool yourself and get your hopes up too high.

>>9090105
I completely agree.
For the people, who do it for fun there is nothing lost but if you're just into it for the money then it's most likely a waste of time you could be spending for a good paying job.
>>
With all this streaming talk, what are some good channels for DIY cosplay and props? They don't even have to be tutorials, making offs are just as informative and fun to watch.
>>
>>9090113
The odds of breaking through are pretty bad but once you have some subscribers it's a pretty efficient job
>>
>>9090127
Indeed it is.

But like I said... don't get your hopes up to high for ever making a breakthrough.

What do you want to stream anyway? Games? Cosplay progress?
>>
>>9090123
Arda wigs has its own stream.

They have different people there working on different stuff and not all are really good but sometimes I learn something new here and there.
You also get credits the longer you watch, which you can use to enter raffles. That's really cool.
>>
>>9090148
I'm not the original poster about streams but streaming games is pretty easy
>>
>>9090227
It is, especially with Nvidia Shadowplay allowing you to directly stream to Twitch without any real performance hit. The only thing you really need to but these days is a proper microphone with a pop filter and maybe a webcam if you're all about "reactions".

No, I remember a lengthy discussion on a facebook of one of the better known Dutch cosplayers about this. The summary is that Dutch 'hokjesdenken' kicks in on a subject like this.
The consensus was that there should be clear distinction between honorable cosplaying and filthy porn, or such nonsense.
(the Belgians in the discussion were appalled at the narrowmindedness of their otherwise openminded northern neighbours, they didn't really mind cosplayers doing 'racier' shoots)

I was talking about a whole other topic. Like once I was google-ing annie from league of legens and I found porn. It grosses me out how cosplayers think sexualizing a cute young character is ok.
>>
>>9093700
That's legal pedo bait...
>>
>>9093700
Talking about a whole other topic when there was a discussion on burlesque =/= porn. Or are you the type of person who reads stuff and then goes on about something else on your mind connected to that? (Actually, that's a serious question.) Of course it's gross sexualizing a cute young character, but unfortunately rule 34 is everywhere, so ehh what you gonna do.. And about that part 'cosplayers'.. A porn star that cosplays doesn't really equal the average cosplayer you know..
>>
>>9094470
>A porn star that cosplays doesn't really equal the average cosplayer you know..

Why not? Aren't all cosplayers equal? Despite body type, gender or whatever?
I just saw this amazing Rachnera cosplay by a pornstar, how should her cosplay be less than the cosplay of the average weeb?
>>
>>9094850
Because most cosplayers are geeks/weebs in the end, hence that would be average. If cosplay had a stereotype, it would be that. Doesn't mean pornstars don't do it, just means that it's more like a minority. Welp maybe if you count nurse/teacher/officer cosplay and the like, it would be more average though. So who wants to research on this? And about the 'all cosplayers are equal' thing, average =/= equal.
>>
>>9094470
Oh anon how well you know me. My brain is a clusterfuck.

it's the new thing, i remember everyone pulling out a 3DS because they might have passed people who have puzzle pieces for them.

>>9096800
No, although personally I'm getting tired of all the Overwatch posts. My advice is to just let it be. As it stands Pokemon Go is a rather barebone geocatching game with very little features to keep things interesting. Even the gym battle system is weak as fuck, and unless they decide to add actual trainer battles, trading and pretty much everything that makes Pokemon games fun to play, I doubt the hype around Pokemon Go will survive the summer.
Also you can hide posts. Do this and Facebook will soon learn you don't like Pokemon Go and stops displaying any post about it on your timeline. At least, that's what it did to me and Overwatch.

I just mean; people here are talking about cosplayers they like/dislike and everyone here knows who they're talking about. Or when people are like: "ugh thisandthis competed again in her 2015 costume again!" Or whatever, and everyone gets it.
>>
>>9098801
cosplayNL itself just sucks and it's only getting worse by the day, so those somewhat more populair people and somewhat succesful people don't ever post anything in there. Tbh the cosplay community is really just 1 big ass gossip group. I cosplay for almost 2 years now and try to stay away from the drama, but if you meet cosplayers and get into a close cosplay group, soon you'll hear some rumours. CosplayNL is the wrong gateway if you want to hear that kind of stuff. Eventually you'll get the jokes and references.
>>
>>9098808
It's quite funny as I've got a lot of cosplay friends and have competed a few times, but for some reason I never end up with rumours or drama. Makes me wonder if I'm just isolated or they just know I don't give a toss.
>>
>>9098834
same though, don't get involved in any drama and people wont start on you, it's pretty simple, but half of the community acts like school girls (doesnt help that half actually is still in highschool) with their bs drama
>>
>>9097671
I follow a lot of people!
Both photographers and cosplayers, too many to name :)

I have to admit that the majority is female though. <3 Fighting girls
>>
>>9098834
I noticed that if you hang around photographers a lot, you get to hear some rumors. People tell them a lot of stuff even of the photographer in question doesn't give a shit.
Or maybe it are just my friends.
>>
>>9099051
Might be your friends. I don't hang around with photographers a lot, but I do know quite a few of them. But I usually just chat about random stuff. But then again, I don't even think of talking about other people? What I mostly remember from Animecon was talking about being a bit late but still excited for Deshima Sounds....
>>
>>9099051
I noticed the same thing, just like how most photographers tend to be extroverted as fuck. It's not all that uncommon for them to strike a conversation during their break, or to ask strangers to assist them during a shoot. Personally I don't mind it as I'm interested into photography myself, although I stick to nature and wildlife.
>>
>>9098801
you mean team paraluna's winning sheppard cosplay that they reused in contests again and again?
>>
>>9099965
there are more unfair occasions, enough to count on 2 hands probably. Pretzl also competed in a cosplay that won another compo before, sednobis went to wcs 2 times in a row ( though the second year she was the replacement), just to name 2 examples. These are things you hear pretty quickly after a compo
>>
Well if you have a good costume you should be allowed to win multiple years in a row.
I do think you should only be able to use a costume only once. Competition is tough, I can't see myself entering animecon solos for example.

Did something happen between the Dutch cosplay and lolita comms? I'm not really into either (mostly here for con/AA talk) but have a few friends who cosplay, and one of them is now getting into lolita. When my other cosplayer friends heard about this they started talking like they couldn't be friends with her anymore. I thought there were plenty of people who do both cosplay and lolita, but they were acting like you can only do one or the other and both "sides" hate each other.
>pic related

What kind of dramu did I miss?
>>
>>9100089
the rule for WCS is that you have to skip 1 year if you won, so people said it was unfair. Not only WCS btw, more contests have this rule. So no you should not be able to win 2 years in a row, but like >>9099984 said, she was the replacement, though people tend to forget that fact.
>>
>>9100097
never heard of a strict devision, so i have no clue. At cosplay meets there are a lot of lolita's as well.
>>
>>9100103
diversion* autocorrect at it's finest
>>
>>9100097
I'm in both J-fashion and cosplay, and this is totally new to me.
Maybe your friend has bad experience with the Dutch lolita comm?
>>
>>9100101
Actually the rule is that you cant go 2 years in a row with the same partner. So her win was 100% legit.....
The WCS isnt stupid, they would not fly someone over to japan who has won against the rules......
>>
>>9100097
I've not noticed anything. Maybe it's just in your circle.

>>9100135
You got a blog or whatnot?
>>
>>9100105
The word you're looking for is "division".
>>
>>9100097
You're correct, lolita's who get into cosplay are hated on as well. Thing is, what I've noticed about the lolita comm years ago is the girls are so full of themselves. It might have changed in the meanwhile but I doubt it seeing as both the cosplay and lolita comm are about appearances
>>
So what's your favourite and least favourite material to work with?

My favourite material is probably foam, though I have a fondness for Poly Urethane resin.

Least favourite is fibreglass because you will feel it hours after you've stopped working on your project....
>>
>>9100097
lolitas are stuck up cunts
>>
>>9101371
>Least favourite
Fabric. I simply hate every part about working with fabrics, especially sewing.

>Favourite
Foam. Just make a template, cut the foam, bend it and glue everything together. Detailing is relatively easy as well with a Dremel, xacto knife and/or an old soldering iron. Only downside is painting as you need to heat treat it and apply mod podge (50/50 mixture wood glue and water) to it if you don't want your paint to crack. The biggest downside of foam however is how bloody hot it is to wear, and that you can't really cover the joints without severely reducing your freedom of movement. I'm glad my next project has two 8cm case fans powered by 9 volt batteries in them.
>>
>>9101371
favourite is fabric, I made all my costumes up until now. And I don't have any heavy armor cosplays since I don't think that suits me.

least favourite I'd say PU foam... I use it a lot to sculpt with, Will continue to do so, because it's cheap af and works totally fine, but it just leaves a fucking mess and drying time takes forever....
>>
>>9101466
You can buy PU foam in sheets. Less airbubbles, easier to sculpt and no drying time. But also more expensive..
>>
>>9101478
the more you know, never heard of it. will look it up, thanks
>>
>>9101371
Favorite
I am REALLY digging Thibra. It is cut whatever you draw on it. Heat it, shape it if necessary, or else just push it against the surface it needs to stick, get results.

Least favorite
Wigs. I fucking hate wigs. God damn shit does not work for me. They don't stay on my head, it looks unnatural. A fucking pain to style. Really unnerving to wear.
God damn wigs, burn in hell.

>>
>>9101592
do you have a link maybe? or can you just buy it at a hardware store?
>>
Favorite is thermoflex robust, because I'm a cow that walks into everything. Thibra is too flexible, and worbla cracks so easily. Haven't tried the black worbla yet but not planning on using it either. I sometimes consider getting a 3d printer but I have zero designing or computer skills
>>
>>9101648

Cosplay with 3D printing is possible. But needs to be handled with care, small parts can still break easily. But you can make a lot of awesome things with a 3D printer!

Instead of buying a 3D printer you'll probably only use thrice, you can always use one of the many alternatives;
>Several public libraries have a 3D printer available, where you only have to pay for the filament that was used.
>Technical schools often own one or several 3D printers that students may use at dirt cheap prices. Just ask one of the students to print something for you, or call them and ask real nice.
>MakerPoint and 3Dfabriek have several (physical) stores where you can both 3D print and scan, although they are expensive as fuck.
>3Dhubs allows you to find someone with a 3D printer near you and have them print your file at low costs.

Just to give you an idea, this backplate for my Steam Controller would cost me €6 on 3DHub (printed by some student 2KM away from me), as opposed to €35 + shipping at 3DFabriek, or the €400 for a Da Vinci Junior plus filament.

There are lolita's who cosplay and there are cosplayers who also wear lolita sometimes, but generally there's a distance.
Lolita fashion is often associated or called cosplay by people who don't know about it, and that's something they don't like because it is not a costume, it's people being themselves wearing something they like, it's just clothing whereas cosplay is a costume where you are playing someone else. It's an irritating thing for lolita's that other people migt think it's a costume.
And then you have cosplayers and young con-goers who think lolita is not a fashion but the same as a costume (for example by wearing an 'ita' dress or co-ord that doesn't really look 100% lolita) and thus actually supporting the former point. The cosplayers/con-goers then subsequently don't like the lolita's because they think lolita's aren't openminded enough and that their 'costume' should also be called lolita. And thus the hate. At least so I think.
I don't really get where the 'so full of themselves' or 'stuck up cunts' so I just take it that that is bait unless you have a real story. Also, there are rotten apples in all sorts of communities so don't think they represent a whole community. There are still people who do both and take it as seperate hobbies.
>>
Friend: I can't go outside I have anxiety T-T then starts playing pokemon go. This exactly why I don't believe people with 'mental disorders'
>>
Dutch Comic Con started selling early bird tickets for their Halloween event. Let's hope they'll announce some more guests in the near future...
>>
>>9102759
Every half decent cosplayer I know is avoiding this one. They already go to FACTS and/or First look that same month, and a number of them will be at MCM in London that exact same date.
>>
>>9102779
I'm avoiding it myself as well as I dislike comic fairs (which these are, conventions are more like Animecon imho). Still, I figured I would share it with my fellow seagulls just in case someone was interested.
>>
>>9102779
I'm actually going to facts and bats bones and dice. Why choose? Besides, same team behind it so... And I usually don't go for the guests.
>>
Probably have to work, but I might go there because I'm a huge horror fan
>>
>>9101594
I got this from easycomposites, but it's 110 pounds, 141 with shipping. You may want to look for sculpting blocks in local art stores. I know Van Beek Art Supplies has them in blocks.
>>
>>9102879
Because many people I know either have a sidejob in the weekends and cannot choose to many days off. The other half does not want to spend every weekend at a convention.
And, as I said, MCM London. No matter how I look at it, I had far more fun there than both DCCs so that is where I will be going (had that prepared already anyway).
>>
Is there anything interesting happening in the lolita comm?
>>
>>9103694
Facebook has been deleting fbgroups with the word Lolita in it. So they are changing the name of the fbgroup. but that is it, as far as I know

I know that some lolitas are stuck up cunts that hate on gyaru (also on this board; e.g. saying that gyaru is trashy/slutty or whatever, unfortunately I never screened it), even though there are lots of people who wear both fashion styles. There are plenty of genuinely nice lolitas, even those not into other styles, so yes these are just rotten apples. But I've never heard stuff related to cosplayers before.

Terra-con is postponing the event. They are suprised that nobody likes the idea of combining an anime con with a con where you can buy reptiles.
That combo was so wierd and random.
>>
>>9105168
Good. It was a dumb idea.
The reactions on the facebook page are out of hand. As someone into both hobbies, I'm really disappointed with how shortsighted the reptile-side is being. They're feeling real fucking superior to people with a different weird hobby.
>>
The reaction of mr I'm a super weeb is out of hand. I rarely see the dude rage about something not loli related. I also think the con is a bad idea: just as a lot of small cons who have no idea how to organise something are a bad idea. Doesn't mean it shouldn't exist or have a giant rage post on their page. He must probably only be into trouser snakes.

>Short generic answer
We just love seeing hot girls being naked, especially if there are lewd things involved.

>Long generic answer
It really depends on the person. Some just mindlessly watch porn as they “move their little Martian”, while others use their fantasy and have them join in with whatever happens on-screen, and then you have those who watch porn to get aroused as fuck and imagine it’s their crush/partner doing whatever is going on and so on.

>Personal answer
I’ll spare you the specifics, but I’m a male switch (primarily dominant and sadistic, otherwise submissive and masochistic) who’s always out for ideas of new things to try, or new fantasies altogether. So I tend to read stories and experiences by others, and watch videos to fuel my depraved needs. Some ideas would be discarded, while others I got to live out with my girlfriend at the time.

Pic unrelated, I just felt like we could use Dutch inspired cosplay in our thread.
>>
>>9104245
But gyaru is literally about looking and acting like a trashy party slut. And what's wrong with that? I'd have a lot more respect for gyaru if they just owned up to it.
>>

>>
>>9105897

Yeah because we know the best punani shots are <18!
>>

Why does this have to do with men? Girls can fap just as well.

On a unrelated note, there was this Sona cosplayer which I have had my fair share of intimate thoughts with.
>>
>>9105897
< 18 that sign contracts... not gonan work, so it's perfectly clear why 18+, whenever I work with contracts I also want my cosplay models to be 18+, or their parent's need to give permission.

Sad thing is, his grammar is so far off and he didnt say the pictures weren't his from the bat, so it seems scatchy either way. I'm dyslectic myself and my grammar is not that fucked, haha.
