Post your Undertale cosplay pics and projects in this containment board.
After Fancy Toriel (and her knock-off!), pic related is the second most stupid thing I've seen in recent Undertale cosplay stuff. Feel free to prove me wrong and post even more dumb shit.
Also, MCM-anon, post your pics here.

I've been meaning to ask, does anyone know the maker of this sculpt? Saved it several threads ago, saw it in my folder again today. I can't find her tumblr anymore via Image Search, and I'm just curious if she ever made it into a mask.

this Sans at Animazement was awesome, if i ever do sans i really need to do it like him, saw alot of badly done sans aswell but him and pajama sans were top notch
Hey, is knitting anon lurking around? I've decided that I really like the look of knit sweaters for Frisk and Chara rather than just painting stripes on. I've always wanted to learn how to knit so I'm going to learn to make my own just for the hell of it. Could someone maybe point me in the direction of a good beginner book or something? I figure I'm going to need to start off with like...a scarf or soemthing small and simple just to learn the types of stitches before jumping at something like a sweater. I never figured that Undertale would prompt me to finally learn knitting.
>>9029304
Didn't that guy post here
Sat of megacon- caught a glimpse of an asgore that was top quality. anyone have any pics? they had walked way too far ahead for me to catch a picture. i don't think they used the northfur face?

I am anon, and in an insanely good mood since my sweater was well received today.
Learning to knit isnt super hard! Nor is knitting a sweater (its just very very VERY time consuming, it'll take you a while but its worth it)
I want to make an actual small series of youtube videos on how to do it, but for now I'll tell you start by googling. A lot of knitting books are overpriced and its a lot easier to learn knitting by watching it (hello youtube) than it is reading it. If you want to knit a Chara or Frisk sweater I highly recommend two projects first,
first, knit a scarf. You can choose any yarn (make sure your needle size matchs though you can google how to get the right size but the label will almost always tell you what size needle to use) or dont be afraid to ask an employe of the craft or yarn shop in question they always seem happy to help beginners. A scarf will teach you the basic stitch and how to pearl. Dont be afraid fi something goes wrong during the knit, dropping stitches, accidentally adding some it happens. Knitting a good long scarf teaches how it should feel like and will work out some beginner kinks so you wont have to unravel on a big project.
Next knit a hat. Another easy project that isnt often very time consuming. I like to knit my sweaters on the round (basically two needles that are connected so its a big circle) and often hats are knitted that way.
After those projects you'll have the skills you need for a sweater, knit stitch, pearl stitch, increasing, decreasing, and casting off.
I'll leave my email in the field if you have any questions anon!

>>9030394
If I'm correct, yarn comes in different quality? Like...really cheap yarn will be scratchy when you wear it. And when you knit, there's two sides? Like...a "right side" and a "wrong side", something to do with pearling?
I figured I'd start off making a scarf to practice before jumping into a sweater. Also...I'm left handed, will that be an issue? I watched some videos of people casting off and everyone was doing it right handed, but even though ti would be easier for me to do the opposite, I feel like I could get the hang of doing it regularly. Something about a European way and the Continental way? Sorry for all the questions.
>>9031101
OT, but that Kotori cosplayer is super cute dang
I feel like there's a lot of 13 year olds doing Undertale cosplays. Most of who I see look very young, and I've noticed when I look up pictures online the age range for their blogs is something like 13-15. I feel so old
>>9031420
13 might be a stretch, but I agree. A lot of them are teenagers and it's kinda concerning.
I thought most cosplayers would be ex-Homestucks, which gives them a few years.
>>9030688
So much effort but then those shoes.
>>9031827
why so much effort on completely inaccurate shoulders?
>>9031852

>>9031827
oh hey this was the anon who was showing progress! I really like how it turned out!
also that asriel is adorable
>>9030942
right mettaton looks pretty damn good, it looks a lot less boring to have the cosplay look like an actual robot like pic related
>>9031869
The chestpiece, yeah. But the boots and arms are a trainwreck
>>9030620
i'm really jealous of her makeup skills tho. ridiculous or not it's still super clean. like damn i wish i had those skills
Were there any impressive Undertale cosplayers at Anime North? Saw a few walking around, but I didn't get a chance check out the photoshoots.
>>9030697
It's supposed to be his eyes flashing blue and orange for that quick barrage of attacks. They did it with their contacts but they probably just wanted to emphasize it.
Asriel ain't too bad
>>9031852
itspretty reasonable to take a few liberties with designs as simple as undertale's. I like what they did with it
>>9031852
I chose to make them that way because pic related was my canon reference art.
>>9032069
I know that that's what it's -supposed- to be but why would Asgore ever wear eyeshadow, period, he's a burly dad-king, he wouldn't into make-up
>>9031827
Looks good anon! The shoulder pads look good in the picture, but unfortunately since you pointed out how you accidentally got glue from under the delta rune I can't unsee it. Regardless, great picture.
Hoping to see a better shot of that collar, though!
>>9032198
you know what your right its been so long since i actually saw the sprite, i'm retarded.
how do these people do the muzzle thing? its so trippy but defintely better then a fursuit
>>9032270
Northfur prosthetics, generally. Fair warning if you google that, some of the product pictures (with full make-up) can be pretty fucking unsettling.
>>9032260
Yeah, I had no time to pick it off before con, but now I've got all the time I need to clean it up for whenever I decide to hate myself and wear this damn prosthetic again. I'll deffo post a shot of the collar for you when I find a good one, anon
>>9031385
no worries I'm more than happy to help! I'll try to get to these in order
Yeah yarn varies in quality. When doing big projects that require a lot of skeins (balls of yarn) then you have to balance out the cost per skein with the quality of a yarn. Cheap yarns can be alright to practice on since they dont cost you too much but you'll have a better product if you have a better yarn. That and they are just plain easier to knit with.
Ok two sides... in a sense? its kinda hard to explain. When you're knitting the stitch will look one way on one side one way on the other. What is considered the proper side when you knit is the knit stitch, and the back is a pearl stitch. You can do a pearl stitch which has the opposite effect (the side facing you as you knit that row will be the pearl and the knit on the back) You'll notice when you just straight night for like ten rows straight that you'll have a row of knit and a row of pearl, thats because you turn the needle over each time you finish a row (so the yarn stays the right way and the needle in the correct hand) this image explains it pretty well visually on what it looks like. Now if you knot something on a round/circular needles (like say a hat or sweater) it will just be a straight knit stitch since the piece never flips.
Yes scarf first, left handed is up to you? I'm right handed so I cant really help to much here but the knitting styles (European and continental) are basically just what hand you hold your yarn in. I knit European since I find I get better tension that way, I'm the odd one the rest of my family knits Continental. Continental you hold the yarn in your left hand and in European you hold it in the right.
Like I said before I recommend a lot of youtube videos, I'm going to guess theres several on knitting as a lefty, I cant wait to hear about your projects anon!
>>9032276
I honestly am not a fan of these things, its rare that they look good but for some reason its just..huge on people. I tried a friends on and it just reminds me of a weird walrus. But on some people they've been pretty cool looking!

>>9032882
Do you know where the asgore on the left got their prosthetic from? i like it alot.
>>9033168
I mean, the only necessary detail is that the monsters all want to kill you now. For characters like Undyne, this doesn't mean much, but Papyrus? Ohhhhhhhhhhh boyyyyyyyyyy.
Sans continues to be the schlicker's delight.
>>9033204
Im not into undertale, but i keep seeing sans as some sort of front face of undersmut?
why?
He's not handsome, e doesn't seem to be particularly charismatic or even dangerous, he doesnt even have the niche kink appeal that say the furry characters might (at least nothing that would make him much different from papyrus). So why???? Is he like a sensitive soul bad guy or something???
>>9033273
From what i've seen it's because of the 'jokester guy who can secretly murder you' aspect that have all the tumblrites latching onto him. Apparently being an uber-boss you can only meet while also being a mass murderer is a turn on.
>>9033273

I'm working on prosthetics for my boyfriend's asriel, fit to his lifecast so it fits perfectly, any tips on shaping it that you think would look better than those everyone uses?
I read that they don't come with nose holes so that's something I've already fixed on his
>>9033273
Sans is both charismatic and dangerous. You can't really judge his character without knowing the details of the game.
>>9033342
Chiming in to say if i had better pics i would say that the previous post that i did was with that asgore, they did a completely different prosthetic from what i saw and looked more goat like and not oversized like I've seen with the normal ones everyone's used. Ill try to look for more pictures but its the look i think is close to canon for the asriel/asgore characters

>>9033590
>>9033592
This is what it was looking like (not yet finished by any means, I was still setting the basic shape )
I spoke to him and he accepted to try on both and wearing whichever looks better.

I was sent a link to this thread, that's me! Sorry if that's probably a not super close shot, it was flecked alcohol based paints so it wouldnt actually
Flake off like cream or water based. This was also totally towards the end of the day. It was sculpted and molded by me, I made the nose smaller and flatter just out of preference. :)
Sans with waifu
So.. I'm stupid and didn't get the northfur fx goat prosthetic pre-colored white and now I can't match the prosthetic color to my face paint. Anyone have suggestions on how to go about doing Toriel makeup without the prosthetic? I always see people bash the two tone lip, so I'm not sure what approach to take.
>>9033813
No matter what you do someone will hate it so just do what you personally like.
>>9033814
.....true
>>9033813
You can paint the prosthetic yourself with PAX paint. You can buy it pre-mixed, or you can make it yourself: it's one part pros-aid and one part liquitex acrylic paint. Mix that shit, apply with sponge, wait for it to dry, then baby powder the shit out of it. That's what I did for mine, and it worked like a charm.
>>9031827
Thats my friend in the background as Clawhauser. Awe man. That means I JUST missed you guy on Saturday. Well fuck. My group was walking to the Hilton to drop some stuff off.
>>9033610
>>9033740
These both look great. Northfur is alright, but since they're a general prosthetic they're never going to look as good as a personally made one. Good job, anons.
A question of my own. I'm planning to do an Omega Flowey cosplay after seeing a few that I was impressed by. I saw pic related online recently, and while I like the general idea I don't like how bare the actual body looks. Any ideas on what to do with the body, if anything? I was thinking of having wires come out of the back of the tv, to simulate the pipes Omega Flowey is suspended by in the battle.
>>9033273
Sans:
Cares about his family
Has a sense of humor
Is independent
Shirks authority while not being an active problem
Is charismatic
Supports and is friendly to the player on a casual basis without smothering them
Will absolutely dunk you in a fight while trashtalking you.
All of these are pretty positive characteristics in a significant other in general.

also why can almost NO ONE get sans' fucking mouth right. this has annoyed me for so long.
>>9034193
The back leftmost one looks pretty good, and the right back one with the blue eye looks alright, but I think the mouth is a little tight-upper-lipped.
>>9031433
To be fair, that looks pretty heavy and this guy is going to have a heck of a time sitting down, so I'd probs want the foot comfort. Also, you'd really need a steady foot, don't want that shit slipping.
>>9034127
You could always do like vines wrapping around your legs. I know it's not canonical but, it'd look really cool, especially if they had little red thorns
>>9033740
Do you have a better picture of the makeup around anywhere?

So glad that my gf and I pretty much skipped the undertale meet. We were in MTT/Napstabot and made it to the tail end after the location was moved to the snake statue. Was talking with an acquaintance nearby and the remaining group asked me to get into some Papyton photos with them. Aha ahaha. Needless to say, I did not join them and their abysmal taste in ships.
>>9033952
I did exactly what you just described. I bought it in the default off-white color, made and applied pax paint on it, and baby powdered it. I think the issue ended up being that the overall face paint took a different color on my skin than it did the prosthetic since there's undertone differences. My con is this weekend, so I'll have to experiment with higher end paints later. I was using some shitty Ben nye stuff.
>>9034532
Ahh. I ended up putting a little bit of my makeup on top of the prosthetic, as well. I used Make Up For Ever's white cremestick and it worked pretty well for my Asriel.

Should I try doing the whole thing over or try for a half mask?
>>9037507
try making the whole thing again. Depending on how you made it, you could do it again in a week. Paperclay sculpts go by really, really fast. Paper mache over a form in one day, prime and start cutting holes the next day, when that dries later in the day, you can start building up the shapes with the paperclay. Give yourself that day and maybe one more. Paint & seal on the following day. 4-day game plan.
Called it.
At least it means slightly-less-shitty Frisks

http://www.knittinghelp.com/
They have videos and stuff. :) Also, if you need a RL teacher you can look up craft stores or yarn shops in your area.
I advise you to start with something small and manageable; like a cotton yarn potscrubber or dishcloth instead of a scarf. Scarves tend to drag on for new knitters. Another good early project is this knitted cat. It is simple and only uses the knit stitch: http://lillielil.livejournal.com/195349.html
>>9032815

anyone have any more pics from Fanime?

That cat is so cute! I'm going out to get some supplies tomorrow just to start. I've decided to make a potholder or two to start out with since like you said, I was really worried about the scarf project dragging for me. Thank you for that website! I've also been watching the beginners videos Chara sweater anon posted.
It seems like for bigger projects there is a lot of counting involved, like you count the rows you've done, or I guess people base things off of how many inches you've knit? Some people had stitch counter clickers in some videos. Would it be weird if I tallied off rows on a piece of paper or something?
this duct-tape neo is making me cry
>>9038249
Here's my Sans. I think I was already posted in one of the uh... group images, though. The mask was a rush job my girlfriend did in a few days. I was really surprised and happy, because I had kind of given up hope in my ability to ever go as Sans (Last Sacanime, I went as Sans with a paper bag on my head that said "Mettaton").
She did a great job, and I only really helped with sanding it a bit. We didn't put enough wood filler on it, though, so it didn't sand down perfectly, and we also only got LEDs last minute and couldn't figure out a way to mount them that was both in place, not blinding, and not covering up the vision.

>>9037843
Ok so this is going to be a dumb question, but I want to cosplay Frisk, and I notice everyone uses hot pink for the color. But when I color drop from the sprite, it's blue and purple. What is everyone's thoughts on this? Should I just go with hot pink which is more common or the purple?
>>9039056
I like the weird fuschia/purple color.
>>9038778
they were super cute in person, iirc they also had another sans mask with a winking eye which was fantastically made
>>9030394
Oh wow this looks a lot nicer than the painted sweaters. What yarn did you use? I'm going to be knitting a Chara sweater for my friend soon, and I'm debating over which yarn to use. Acrylic would be the easiest to get, but wool looks so nice. But then wool is also super hot, so it might be better to use something that breathes a bit more, especially for cons. Picking yarn is the worst!
>>9039203
I used Big Twist, its 100% acrylic but actually very soft and still looks nice. My sweaters are very baggy and require a lot of skeins so I chose it since the price was reasonable for all that yarn and still looked good when I knitted up a swatch. Wool is great but also very warm. Also survives the washing machine pretty well which is a plus.
The brand worked for me since it had a variety of colors (so it wasnt super hard for me to color match) and it was available at Joanns so it wasnt hard for me to get ahold of.
>>9037843
I.... am not a fan of this. That makes me sad. I dunno it looks weird for some reason that I cant put my finger on. Either the stripe placement or the colors. Or both.

>>9039247
I'm tempted to make one out of Cascade 220 but I feel like that's a bit...much for what's ultimately a cosplay sweater. I think I'm going to stock up on coupons and get either the Deborah Norville Everyday Soft or Lionbrand Heartland. I saw two of the Heartland colors next to eachother in Joanns and I thought it looked really nice. It would be interesting to make a more natural and rustic looking Frisk sweater for myself once I'm done knitting for my friend.
>>9038778
This is great, and it really fits with his character that you actually see in the game.

I like this Sans a lot more than all of the edgelord AU ones. Kigu Sans with a hotdog is more accurate to his character, I feel.

Does the guy in the pic live in kansas? Theres is TCM doc who looks like him in my town

It's kind of in between so do whatever you prefer.
My friend went for a more purple shade, and I thought it looked nice.

Any idea how that Asriel's done their horns? They've got such a great shape and angle

Asriel's an anon here, not sure if they posted about their horns but they have shared a lot of progress in previous threads. Worth a look through the archives for it.

This. This right here is actually the issue I'm having right now. I'm so autistic when it comes to colors, and I'm stuck between using a more purple shade or a magenta like I've seen. It seems like all the knitting anons are hanging out in this thread. Would you anons helps me make a color decision? Top is the blue I'm using, bottom colors are the two I'm considering for the stripes. Thoughts?
>>9040579
The magenta is going to look better. If you want to go with more of a purple color, you need to have a brighter one that that violet youve got there.
>>9040579
Is it possible to dye them? If you could get the magenta one to be just a bit more purple i think it would be good.
>>9040630
dying that magenta with a bit of purple wont work well, it'll just become kinda muddy and dark looking. Basically like the bright violet at best
>>9040630
I've never dyed yarn before. That's a good idea! Is there a way I could just....tint the magenta more purple or something? This is the color of yarn I really wanted...alas, it is 100% merino wool.
>>9040579
It looks like the magenta will get you the saturation you want, but the violet is closer to the purple tone on Frisk's sweater. Dang, that's a hard decision.
Is it weird that I like how different everyone's Frisk sweaters are? I like how people interpret the character sprite differently.
>>9040861
What's wrong with a knife?
I do agree that the rest is unnecessary though. It's creepy but not Chara-creepy.
>>9040431
rad paint job.
love the glossy eyes
Anyone have pictures from the A-kon meet?
>>9040699
what's wrong with merino wool other than it beig stupid expensive?
>>9041043
I'd prefer to stick to similar types of yarn. My blue is acrylic, and I would like to keep it a synthetic fiber of a similar gage and stich count, so it looks more uniform and will most likely handle the same.
I'm just really dumb when it comes to color choices. I obsess over getting perfect shades and it's just a real issue for me when it comes to making decisions.
>>9040407
Thanks for the pic!
>>9040123
Asriel-anon here. They're slush cast off of real goat horns then filled with an expanding foam to keep them light. There's a headband pulled through some large staples attached to the horns on the inside with apoxy resin and some electrical tape is wrapped around inside for additional stability. I chose this method so I could remove the horns and reuse the wig for another cosplay.
>>9041533
Oh wow! That's amazing! Thank-you for sharing
Okay I dunno why this tickles me so much.
>>9042540
He fucking does it, too.
I actually commissioned one of the Kaiborg Sans casts. I got the raw cast, and finished it myself. Had to drill/jig saw out the eyes, and use an angle grinder to clean up the mold seam and shape the overflow in the back so I could fit it over my head. Did my own paint, eye mesh, and eye lights. The paint is a matte, dabbled gesso paint to look more like bone and because I didn't like the glossy shine most have, and the shadows under the eyes, and between the teeth are powdered charcoal brushed on because I don't like the hard outlines on most.
Debuted it at Colossalcon just this past weekend. Here's a pic with a Toriel cosplayer I found at the con.
>>9042698
I have more pictures as well.
Put a hotdog on Frisk's head.
>>9042700
>>9042698
And here's one with the best Papyrus I have ever seen, here in formal attire before the con's formal ball. (He also had a full battle body he wore the rest of the time he was Papyrus) His mask was fantastic, and had a separate lower jaw on hinges that moved when he talked.
(*isn't my bro the coolest?)
>>9042714
Anyone else at Colossalcon get pics of anyone?
>>9042714
I'd love to see pics of that Papyrus's battle body; the mask looks really clean and expressive!
>>9042775
I found a (rather cute) Undine. I must have come off as a total creep since I wanted to befriend him but couldn't find him anywhere and asked a few Undertale cosplayers if they'd spotted him.
Unfortunately, I failed.
>>9043279
Here's one of the pics from the Undertale shoot. He's right there in the middle, and yes, he is very expressive. He also does a perfect Papyrus voice.
>>9043632
>>9043279
And here's one from the Skeleton Family picture.
>>9042698
I gotta be honest, I'm really sick of Sans and Papyrus cosplayers with visible bone morphsuit type shit. Yes, they're skeletons (Probably, in the case of Sans), but they don't actually show leg bones or ribcage ever. Sans' costume includes a white high-necked shirt, socks / shorts long enough to leave no visible leg, and mittens. You can't see any actual part of his body besides his face.
>>9043639
That's just my take on the sprite. I know a lot of people see it as just a white shirt, but the actual sprite for sans is a bit more ambiguous. If you look close, it looks like collarbones and ribs. The only other "canon" sans image is the steam card art, and that was drawn by a different artist who admitted it was just his personal view of it, and not exactly what Toby Fox had made (ie- the blue converse and shirt).
The skeleton gloves, they were a last minute thing, it's kind of hard to find mittens in the summer. I am thinking of switching to white gloves though. But I'm not doing away with the shorts, summer cons are much too warm to wear long track pants all day for 3 days straight.
>>9043639
>>9043642
Here are the other sprites. In the side view, it definitely looks more like ribs. In the battle sprite, it looks more like a separate manubrium and sternum, and not zipper teeth on the sides, but ribs going behind the jacket/hoodie.
This is all just my take on it, and seeing as it's all limited pixels, it's hard to say what is/isnt accurate.
>>9043648
>>9043642
>>9043639
For clarification, a labeled rib cage, with manubrium and sternum.

Got the chance to attend Phoenix Comic Con last weekend as Toriel, though I wish I had been able to fix up the rest of the dress and the prosthetic so it didn't look as bad as it did
>>9044133
I really like the way your Toriel looks; I think it's the glasses. Your interpretation of her gives off the appropriate "motherly" vibe imo.

>>9043649
It's not unreasonable, but this is an official product :
http://www.fangamer.com/products/undertale-figurines-series-1
And actually, all merchandise on there has it as some sort of shirt. Combine that with the steam card, and it's overwhelmingly in the favor of him wearing a shirt. Which is more reasonable anyways, what kind of dummy goes shirtless while wearing a winter coat?
>>9044323
Theres an album floating around on facebook, go to colossalcon's fb page or search for ohio undertale and you should find a bunch.
Any you're looking for specifically?
>>9044334
oh dur, I'm barely on facebook so it didn't occur to me to look anywhere but tumblr or here. Thanks dude!
>>9044333
A numbskull.
>>9044333
>http://www.fangamer.com/products/undertale-figurines-series-1
While true that is an official product, it also was not designed by toby fox, just approved as merchandise. All of the fangamer products are. Like I said, the steam card's artist is quoted as saying those are his personal headcanons for sans, and may or may not reflect what is actually in game. I'd say its open for personal interpretation, to say the least. I'm not bothered by sans cosplays that have shirts, turtlenecks, tuxedo t-shirts, mittens, or chucks. I just like my own cosplay to be how I personally see sans in game.
(My gloves and leggings are being replaced by the next con I go to. Opting for white gloves and white leggings with joints painted/dyed on, for a more solid look.)
>>9044346
I doubt that it would be released as an official product if it were that far off the mark, especially since a 3D model can be changed before the figurines are printed.
If you don't see it that way, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.
>>9044373
Hey, I'm not gonna let it get under my skin. Tibi-honest, I don't mind either way. Not gonna fib-ula, I like debating stuff like this, but I don't want any hard feelings. Maybe my heart's not in it, or maybe I just don't have the guts. No bones about it, I'm standing by my opinion, and you can stand by yours. I'm just thick-skulled like that. Hope all these puns don't rib you the wrong way. This conversation has been sansational either way.
what about the Sans sprite from the kickstarter that has him drinking and having the drink going right through him? I can't be assed to find it right now, but I think that would add a point to the "it's bone under that thar jacket" camp?
>>9044373
>I doubt that it would be released as an official product if it were that far off the mark

>>9044346
I always pictured Sans as wearing like..basketball shorts and a white tshirt under his coat.
>>9044133
Thanks god you didn't wear that orribile legs (because you're the big furry leg toriel right?)
Also I suggest you to wear a white pair of gloves at least
And to remove those glasses bc toriel don't wear it always
>>9044323
>That file name
Thank you anon
>>9044346
>>9044620
I had basketball shorts, but they were too big and the pockets didn't hold enough. I got those swim trunks to wear at the Kalahari, the water park/convention center the con was at. Black trunks with white stripes down the sides, and cargo pockets. Sounds to me like something sans would wear, even if its not the canon clothing.
>>9045175
Huh, good catch.
>>9044133
Basically what other anon said, glad you ditched the legs. Maybe keep a slimmer version of the fursuit feet? Or white shoes, at least. Aside from that and the things you already addressed, looks fine to me. Glasses... maybe as a prop to use when you're like looking at some merch you need to read, and then keeping it around your neck/forehead when you don't "need" it?
>>9044133
I honestly liked the big furry legs. But maybe I'm biased.
>>9045267
They weren't bad, in terms of quality.
Just way too much effort for Toriel.
I'd try to reuse them for some other furry character.
>>9045267
What did you like about them? Because I thought they were technically alright, just not fitting for a goat (or assumed to be goat) character. Goat hind legs are pretty skinny.
>>9045267
They looked pretty well made but looked really strange for Toriel imo since in the game she has nothing like that. It's distracting and weird to draw so much attention to her legs, as a result. Her silhouette is pretty rectangular.
>>9044133
I don't think the ones you have now are bad, per se, so it's just a personal aesthetic taste, but I'm not a big fan of the horns you're using for Toriel. The gold colour feels like it clashes with the rest of the outfit, and the ringed style of horn doesn't read "goat" or even look anything like Toriel's horns at all. I know doing them in a white would just get hidden in your wig, cus it's a pretty full, textured wig, so if it were me, I'd paint it more realistically instead of a canon bright white, or a fantasy colour like that gold.
>>9037667
Progress so far. still need to add more clay and sand and paint it. But it doesn't look too bad for a rush job.
>>9045665
not gonna lie, that looks pretty damn bad
>>9045665
needs to be as wide as it is tall around the mouth area
>>9045261
The glasses are actually prescription so I kinda of need them on most, if not all of the time. Plus they help hide the edge at the top of the prosthetic which I have a hard time blending in
Also the legs were a first attempt made in three days with little to no instructions/tutorials and all based on several different ref pictures so
>>9045577
I actually plan on making new horns soon, but I've had those horns since Sacanime at the beginning of the year and had bought them from a vendor because mine broke the day of the con and I just kinda stuck with them
Though, everyone has their own style and own little flares to cosplays like these since with pixels there isn't as much detail as for example; an anime character. So artistic liberties were taken in the making and it is quite an improvement from when I first made the cosplay
(also sorry this is so long I tend to ramble a lot ^^;)
>>9045246
It's swimsuit Sans, you're good.
>>9030394
Kind of OT, but I just started learning how to knit today! I find the knit stitch rather difficult since I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out holding the needles and string. I tend to get confused learning new things that require the hands because I'm a lefty. I'm just going to keep practicing til I get it down. I'm hoping to maybe be good enough in a few weeks to start a sweater!
>>9045175
Copying this from my last post cause I didn't see your comment
The glasses are actually prescription so I kinda of need them on most, if not all of the time. Plus they help hide the edge at the top of the prosthetic which I have a hard time blending in
the legs were a first attempt made in three days with little to no instructions/tutorials and all based on several different ref pictures so
I attempted to make gloves but seeing as I was going to be leaving for PCC the day after Fanime, I had zero time to finish everything up. Though I painted my hands, though they're barely noticeable in the picture I posted.
>>9046201
I don't know how much it will help but there are sites that can mirror youtube videos for you if you want to learn how to knit in the opposite direction!
>>9046236
One of the anons posting a knitting tutorial site that I've been using! I just realized that they put two different versions of the videos up, I guess to show how to do things in the different styles? It's so helpful though, they zoom in on what they're doing and it's pretty simple to follow along. I'm just having difficulties getting the needle into the knot thing you make and then slipping it off. Plus how to tension the yarn with my hand. I'm sure the more I practice the better I'll get at it...and actually be able to do the stitches. The people in these videos make it look so easy!
>>9045760
Yeah I might end up scratching the cosplay desu and wear my kigu as a backup thing.
>>9046187
Tried to alter it and I've come to learn working with clay isn't my strong suit. Well, least I can say I tried.
>>9046361
Yeah, just slapping more clay on won't get you the sheer amount of bulk you'd need on the bottom. And even if you could, it would be massively heavy, and would start to get painful to wear... It would make more sense to cut the top part and attach it to a newer bottom part, if not starting over from scratch completely.
But don't worry anon, that's not a materials issue, your claywork seems fine (esp cus you said you haven't sanded it smooth yet.) What you need to work on is the more integral skill of converting the 2d image into a 3d space and keeping the proportions. That sounds harsh, but if you can learn it, then whether you use clay or any other material, you'll be able to avoid problems like the one you ran into with your mask in the future.
>>9046193
>>9046225
>>9045261 and >>9045300 anon, for the glasses crit I meant to add "if the glasses are a prop", so if you need them to see, by all means keep them on. On the legs, still, they're fairly well made, just not very goat-like.
Are you planning to add more to the costume in that regard? New legs, feet, arm socks? Just curious.
>>9046427
Thanks for the tip.
I know it looks like ass, but meh. For 3 days work it's decent. I'll remake it once I have more time/improve my skills
>>9046603
Mhm! I actually plan on making arm socks and less clunky feet. Though I don't have any plans to remake the legs anytime soon.
(I also plan on re-making the dress entirely for Anime Expo.)
Also, re-reading my posts I realize I was being a bit defensive or at least really sounded defensive, but I meant my responses to be a bit explanatory in my choices for the cosplay. Whoops. Really wish I didn't have a hard time wording things.
>>9030620
Asriel looks pretty cute (aside from the girlish eyelashes) and that Asgore is pretty good too (aside from the eyeshadow) but I really really hate that Toriel because of that whore makeup and cheap lace + tiara. It just screams some weird Prom Queen Diva Furry look to me. She should've gone with grey eyeshadow (for both Toriel and Asgore) with no black lipstick and not pull that haughty facial expression.
>>9047510
Don't worry about it anon, the UT thread is one of the chillest places on /cgl/ in terms of 4chan-ness, I guess you could call it. Besides, you seem to want to improve the costume, so that's something good. Good luck remaking the things you've planned!
