Classic thread? I've been contemplating getting back into the style, convince me with your best pics.
Especially looking for darker classic. Reds, greys etc.
Sorry, don't have a lot of darker color palettes, I lost a lot of pictures recently. I'll see what I have though.
this borders on gothic/classic, sorry if it doesn't count
same with this one
Don't worry, I have a huge weakness for anything on that border.
>mfw i have multiple pics of fannyrosie in the same dress, coorded differently
Well coorded classical is so beautiful and elegant. I know everybody has their own tastes - but to me classic will always be the truest form of Lolita. It's nice to wear Hyper-Cute sweet stuff sometimes, but Classical just warms my heart.
That's funny because she's short irl.
I'm sure the photo was taken from a low angle, the way standing portraits are supposed to be taken.

I wish I could tattoo this to every photographer's eyelids
(sorry for rant, contributing)
I'm so in love with fannierosie. Does she have an instagram?
What are your guys' thoughts on bare legs (or nude nylons?) in classic? My wardrobe is finally starting to get defined as more classic-leaning, but I'm so used to wearing printed OTKs or tights that bare legs feel strange to me, and i worry I'll be judged, even if I feel they suit the coord, like in this.
I'm eh on it, personally. I think they only work in outfits like the quoted where it could reasonably be worn as a 'normal cocktail/formal event dress'. In which case... you're not necessarily going for lolita anyway, it just happens to crossover.
In almost every situation I think a simple pair of tights is preferable- or if for summer, simple tights or crew socks.
Apologies if there's any repeats, I don't remember what I've dumped already. Might post some collages too for lack of worn coords.
random RuffleCon classic coords
Since the co-ord thread has gone to shit, anyone know how to fit a sweet dress into a classic co-ord?
Bodyline because yeah, really.
Use an ivory/cream blouse instead of white, and play up the browns with shoes and accessories. This really only works with toned down sweet dresses though, so I don't know how well it'll work in practice here because that print is pretty sweet.
I don't really think that's a dress you can make classic. You might be able to get away with more mature-sweet styling but not classic. Try a blazer, some cute heels and a beret or cloche hat in browns and pink. Long sleeve, toned down blouse like a bowknot or round neck blouse in offwhite.
this Excentrique dress and detachable collar are perfect
