That's Korean, not Japanese.

I couldn't tell Korean, Chinese, Japanese or any other of those hieroglyph languages apart to save my life. Also, didn't know "moonrune" only referred to Jap, thought it was for any of them.

Korean is easy enough to distinguish since it's got a lot of straight lines and circles. Japanese and Chinese would be a bit more difficult because there's a lot of overlap in their symbols (a lot of Japanese characters are borrowed from Chinese)

If you want to tell Japanese and Chinese apart look at the complexity of the symbols. Japanese includes two phonetic alphabets called hiragana and katakana which are composed of simple, uncomplicated shapes. If you see alot of those interspersed with the more complicated Kanji characters then you're looking at moonrunes. If they're all Kanji then it might be Chinese.
