Wonder where all the Lainfriends went. Don't we usually have more by this point?
>>2769832
Maybe they left to join the wired.
I only show up to save the thread when necessary.
>>2769832
They seem to come and go.
Sometimes we have some very active threads, but every now and then it's just me and a few others.
I'm new to lain and about halfway through the series but I don't really understand what's going on. Is it something that will be explained later or am I not thinking about it hard enough?

lain related
>>2769899
I'd say that's pretty normal, the end does tie everything together but it still requires a bit of thought.
A lot of things are left to interpretation.
>>2769832
I'm here
>>2769899
How do you get into this site?
>>2770118
You mean this login page? http://fauux.neocities.org/login.html
There is no valid login. It's just to screw with your head.
I'm always there, but I don't post, I just lurk.
So I never forget the Lain.
CONVERSATION PROMPT
I just very recently read "The Nightmare of Fabrication" although I've watched the show many times I've paced myself with the other content, it would just be too depressing if there were no more Lain to go through.
But anyway what does everyone think of it? When exactly does it take place relative to the series? If you don't know about it it can be read here
https://mebious.neocities.org/Layer/Nightmare.html
I'm going to be going into the stuff from the game soon, is there anything especially interesting there?

Alright, now we're getting somewhere.
>>2770640
Probably my favorite short/one-shot manga. It's impressive how much emotional impact it has despite its length. Although I was always under the impression that it was considered canonically separate from the show.
I haven't delved into the game yet, either. More than anything I want to re-watch the show first, since it's been far too long, but the times have yet to agree with me.
>>2770653
I see, I never considered a separate canon. It would be interested if some content creators got together sometime to work on an anthology based around Lain. I feel like there's a lot you could do with it.
>>2770640
It serves as a very nice link between the Lain of the game and the Lain of the anime.
I really love it though.
>>2770883
I love that outfit, so cool looking.
If everyone forgets about me. Is it as if I have never existed ?
>>2770936
Exactly. That's why it's so important that you remember.
>>2770936
If everyone and everything, including yourself, forgets about you, then you really never did exist.
>>2771053
What is this?
>>2771467
(me again) I tried to keep only the picture better with paint.
Anyone have this in good quality ? (without any autographs on it)
>>2771335
some russian ATM/check machine
How I feel right now.
>>2772671
Cheer up, anon.
We're all Wired friends here
Got some new shelves for my Lain stuff.
Now I need to buy more to fill them out a bit.
>>2773051
Pretty cool, anon
What is the small pink box on the bottom left?
>>2773080
https://kyonpalm.bandcamp.com/album/--4
Christmas gift from a buddy of mine.
>>2773051
I'm super jealous. Where do you find this stuff? ebay?
>>2773122
Combination of eBay and Mandarake.
>>2773051
You must love Lain a lot. That PVC is not cheap. I notice that the PS1/PSX game seems to be missing from your shrine though!
>>2773196
Good eye!
The game is more expensive than the pvc was when I bought it, but hopefully soon I can spring for it.
Still need some CDs and books as well.
>>2773051
This is just awesome anon.
I wish I had a work so I could buy any Lain related stuff I'd find on the internet.
This wired box is amazing.
I guess I'll keep an eye on mandarake and ebay.
>>2773537
Aww thanks buddy.
My job isn't exactly well paying but it gives me enough to pay for school and Lain so I'm content.
>>2771467
Holy crap, I've never seen this one before! Says 2008 Geneon. That's before Geneon merged and the BD restoration came out, so it must be an insert illustration in one of the old DVD volumes.
Makes me wonder how many extras there are in the old DVD and LD releases that I've never seen.
>>2774100
ah, it's from a French DVD box. Might even be an exclusive illustration for that release. Has a lot of juicy extras. Do want!
>>2774100
I've tried and failed so many times to track down some laser disc copies of Lain.
The french Dvd box set is really cool, it's a laptop and each disc case is decorated like a hard drive.
>>2771468
I only have it with autographs.
>>2774117
I'd be interested in getting my hands on the LDs myself, if I had any money. All the VHS and LD illustrations by ABe are reprinted in Omnipresence, but there might be some more never-before-scanned goodies by Takahiro Kishida or others.
Why is she so perfect /c/?
>>2771468
Tried fiddling with the brightness/contrast and upscaled it with waifu2x
Here is the french box. You find this art, DVDs looking like hard drives for the episodes, printed nightmare of fabrication, two more DVDs for "making off" and cyberia mix OST which is really cool. You also find three books with arts and summaries of each episodes.
The box looks like a navi inside and that's pretty fun.
Though there is a piece of paper glued to the closed box that you have to tear appart in order to open it.

Lain is very, very cute and also a god.
>>2774240
>>2774241
Ugh I want this one so bad.
I had a chance to get it but I hesitated, now it's crazy expensive.
>>2774306
Wow anon I feel sorry for you, 2 years ago I bought it for about 40 Euros and it's now at 130 on amazon.fr
Maybe you could find it on ebay or somewhere less mainstream ?
>>2774315
still not as expensive as the original BD box
>>2774176
I happen to know I used to have this image in high resolution, 1728x1731. But I've lost it.
>>2774351
Sup
>>2774315
That's actually about half the price it is on just plain old amazon.com.
Does amazon.fr ship internationally?
lain's an angle, she is always with us, always watching <3
>>2774779
If she's an angle she's certainly acute.
>>2774240
I found two versions. One that came out in 2008 and the other in 2010. The contents seem to be the same though.
Does anyone know if they are different or the same (and it's just another production batch ?).
>>2774533
>>2774837
I'm sorry anons, I can't help you.
>>2774909
What is this ?
Happy Halloween anons!
>>2776396
That's a cute edit.
Magical Girl Raising Project is pretty good so far.
>>2776396
I feel I must point out that your katakana spells "line"
and that image reminds me of a song...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk-Gnzb4pNg
>>2776508
Oh yeah it should be レイン shouldn't it?
Close though.
Also fun little tidbit, when referring to her wired personality her name was written in Katakana.
Kanji was used for her shy human one, and her evil one I think was Latin characters.
New thread??
