Pensions are being replaced by 401ks, means more money in the stock market and more people involved. Though these workers don't understand what effect their 401k has on their retirement and belive it is handled automatically, when in reality it should be handled by your own and not by the broker. It is ignorance is all and that's alright, more money for those that have a clue. Now that there is many investing into their 401k, you have brokers with control overy this large sum of money that continues to come in on a weekly basis. Now what happens when the market crashes? Those that have a clue pull out before any loss, while these ignorant illinformed individual blue collar/white collar workers take the fall and they're the one holding the bag, complaining and blaming it on Wallstreet for what has become of their retirement. It is quite a bliss to know someone else will be holding the bag. I've learned to accept it and keep to my own, as it does no good to inform an individual of their ignorance.
