You won't get a reference from them, which negates your previous exp, at least for big companies. A bad referral is like a std that everyone knows about, and also shows you haven't a clue how others percieve you if you would suggest a referee that would be negative.

I lied on my CV to get my previous 2 jobs. I said I had a diploma when actually I dropped out of my study because I disliked the classmates and teachers. I also applied about 6 jobs and had interviews at other places. They never checked out my statements on the cv. Of course I also insinuated I had more experience and qualifications in other statements on my cv.

btw, been working 4 years at current job of which I lied on cv to get it. I have seen about 5 people get fired for lying on their cv.

I'm willing to bet their background as far as qualifications was never checked out either.

The difference between those 5 people and me is that I could deliver and actually do the job.

Don't lie on things that you can get caught out on. Otherwise lie as much as you can. -Multiple Fortune 500s.

What that anon said: you have to lie within your abilities. Tom Ford got his start as a fashion designer because he lied about his degree, he made a fashion portfolio when he actually studied Architecture.

However he had enough understanding of tailoring, and being an architecture student of design that he could fake it till he made it.
10 years later he was head designer of Gucci and turned it into a billion dollar firm.

Lie about your credentials, not your abilities.
