Are there any cryptocurrencies without so much focus on annonymity?
I'm wondering as I want to invest in something goverments might actually pick up

Tether's your best bet pro, it's a very stable currency.
ripple is highly centralized
When governments are ready to implement cryptos they'll issue their own. And they certainly will because they would easily be able to keep 25-33% of the coins as an emergency reserve which they could stake to earn revenue. Just be really fast to buy those ICOs :3
The closest thing to what you're looking for that currently exists might be NEO, but whether the Chinese government will ever want anything to do with it is still anyone's guess. If they could gain a nice chunk (66%+ of the unallocated shares) then it would be a possibility.

>implying governments will use something besides their own currency they control
>going into crypto specifically for gov-friendly currencies

All goverments very week now

It's not a bad idea at all.

They won't need any reserve, they will just create new coins any time they want.

Perhaps they would, but I don't think it will be in their interest to do it that way.
It would be too slow to gain adoption.

It will gain adoption because it will be legal tender...
