Alright you guys,
What programming language do I need to fucking learn to get a good job in the next 3 -5 years?

i hate this shit coin fuck
learn them all anon, theyre easily to pick up after the first
>>3496799
Python to be proficient with machine learning
Golang to be useful
Swift or C++ to build end user apps
Even if you aren't an expert, just be good enough to bullshit your way through the interview. I have a friend that makes $100k+ as a C# programmer and he still cracks his reference books at work a lot.

bump for you
>>3496799
javascript + es6 + a good frontend library
went from making nothing to 40k to 90k in the last ~3 years
>>3496799
solidity for Dapps
>>3496799
You learn fundamentals, not some specific language

Not a fan of this meme. Programming language syntax can matter a lot. Imagine teaching a beginner python vs brainfuck. JavaScript and/or Python are the best beginner languages imo.

this
what do generic programming jobs even entail?
i took two classes on python and i can make a basic/intermediate math/string program but nothing that i imagine a company would actually want to use
Unironically Javascript

Python is timeless.
Apart from that:
C# on .NET - Best application programming language/framework.
Javascript - Best web development language
Tech changes though, so about 6 months to 1 year before you graduate, hit up job seek website and get some statistical data over a few weeks on what kind of skills jobs require and spend that last year of uni learning that in your spare time.
Build at least 2-3 production-level portfolio projects..
Youl'l land a 50-60k job straight out of uni, and if you're aggressive hit 6 figures within the first 2-3 years.
