On yobit usually there are groups of people that accumulate a coin over a given period of time, then they shill it in the trollbox to newbies, newbies buy en masse, newbies buy, price rises, newbies see price rising they buy, price keeps rising, eventually the guy who accumulated at the beginning sell to take nice fat profits, the last newbies who bought sell because they don't want to lose too much money, then the other newbies and so on and so forth until most newbies have either lost money or are left bagholding worthless coins.

That's called a pump and dump.
